Broadstairs Dave
I wonder if they will help us as we often award " specsaver vouchers" to the officials and some fans. Well done specsavers anyway. BTW hows the fixture congestion problem now?
HKP
Pretty bad! Check the run of matches out here, http://www.guernseyfc.com/matches-fixtures-and-results Three weekends with three games in three days, couple of times four games in five days, total of 17 games in April! Oh and it poured down yesterday and more forecast for today. But they have been working on the pitch since 5am this morning...
Coffin Ender
Forgive my cynicism but turning spectators into walking advertisements for their company isn't really a "huge commitment", is it? A huge commitment would have been funding the club's activities over a number of years like the club's other sponsors instead of printing 2,500 T-shirts just as Wembley hoves into view. Its the way of the world i'm afraid, there are always companies looking for that instant impact PR "stunt" with successful teams whatever the sport. Horse racing gets a lot of this at the big meetings. To benefit teams have to get to the "big" events to be spotted as a potential advertising source then you get the offers or they just hijack your day with advertising outside the gates ,best to have them on board. HKP
Fusion Nightclub making some noise with GFC Guernsey FC and Fusion Nightclub will be giving away 3000 ‘clap-banners’ at GFC’s historic FA Carlsberg Vase Semi-Final 1st leg against Spennymoor Town on Saturday 23 March. Fans will be given the noisemakers on their arrival at Footes Lane for the 3pm kick off and the ‘clap-banners’ are set to make the atmosphere even more electric for the big game. Or one could argue this is teaming up commercial companies to improve things for your club. The whole island is getting behind this, from the Cricket Club lending their covers to the Fire Service also helping with covering parts of the pitch. Work commenced at 5am to try and get a playable pitch.
