Cup Final Dates and Venues

Like everyone else you are entitled to your opinion.

But the strength of a referees performance is reflected in his marks.

I understand what point you are trying to make, but if there was any ongoing biased opinion/decision making etc taking place, then that would reflect in the marks gained for that official.

I can see what point you are trying to make, but it's incorrect.

My marks would back up your point.

I will go through the motions of asking you to elaborate

Off you go then, explain the nonsense that is your post

Well you're in bed with the Directors, team Manager and his Assistant aren't you who are, correct me if I'm wrong, all Greek and have been at one time or another, like yourself, heavily involved with the KOPA League

I wonder whether a certain Official will get a look in for a Final this season

Yes. :P

You are fishing for information.

How would you feel if I was to get a cup final appointment?

I would be pleased for you however as you only fairly recently had a Final I think you're likely to get passed over for another Official, keep us posted anyway

And you have shown that, haven't you? :P :P :P :P :P :P

I'm not show what is more pleasing.

Getting the Challenge Trophy final (again) or annoying you by getting the Challenge Trophy final (again).

Are you coming to watch or is Harefield United's ground on your banned list? :P

or his ability to brown nose in the board-room. That wasn't aimed at PTG, but club marks are a coveted commodity to referees making the jump from 5 to 4, or 4 to 3!

As for talking about referees viewing the forum, I was watching AFC Dunstable u18s vs. Stotfold u18s last month, and two referees were there talking about this very forum.

Why shouldn't they read it? Is it not healthy for them to have an interest in non-league football?

If anything, I think more referees should read the forum. It's pretty good match prep I imagine.

For instance, if a ref reads a thread about a game he is due to officiate, and learns there is animosity between the two clubs, he can change his style in order to suit and protect the game/players.

Refs are often criticized for not communicating - now one's being criticized for doing so.

PTG is always measured in his comments and is a football fan first.

People that make that point are often referring to not being able to speak to a ref after the game to discuss decisions. Not because they want to hear their opinions in general chit chat on forums.

I'm not against them reading the forum, like I keep saying. More the conversing with managers, officials and fans, not sure how clever that is.

I was fortunate to have heard Howard Webb's account of the World Cup final when he came to speak to the SSML match officials. Came across as very honest especially with his handling of the final. There is a report of the night somewhere which I'll dig out if I'm not home too late tonight
