Ryan.c
Who wants to go first then?! That's the first time I've heard everyone in total agreement that we've gone. Second half was nothing short of a calamity. If we're gonna go, let's at least go down fighting with a bit of pride. PLEASE!
Rick the Dick
Reading the Sutton forum this morning it appears that their Manager had shaken things up last night & played a number of their Reserve team players, who's hunger to impress obviously paid dividends. Echo report here:- http://www.echo-news.co.uk/sport/10299823.Billericay_Town_2__Sutton_United_4/?ref=twtrec
GazzaBTFC
We're running out of games and out of time. One would like to think we can still do it. Tonbridge and Staines are six pointer games (currently... We can throw that situation into the bin if we don't pick up points before then)... Am I just clutching at straws? Maybe. What makes me feel that staying up would be pointless is that we'll have to face another season like this. I wonder if it would be better to go back down with the hash lessons of this season and build the club back up to compete at this level. It was once said that the club will find a level on which it can and will compete. I would like that to be in our current league level... But I can see that there has to be changes made on and off the pitch. Until then, the calculations of games remining, points to be won still can rule the possible escape from relegation but fortune will have to smile very benevolently. I shall hold on until the calculations rule other wise. But whatever happens, when the close season comes we need to take the lessons of this season and use them to prepare for the next
Rich.m
Well......that's another home game out the way, move and to Farnborough and hope for 3 points. We need to go back to winning ugly like last season. It looks doom and gloom down here and it's not nice for anyone connected with the club, but we can't give up, it's our club and until we can't mathematically get safe then we all still believe we can do it! On the game, the first half could have been 4-4 both teams having chances, the first goal was deflected, but we got back into it via Wildy and a piece of luck from their keeper. Second half we needed someone to get their foot on the ball and bring us up from our own half, but we couldn't do it and everything time we cleared it, it was coming straight back. Ryan sums its up, we have enough games left to put it right, if we get the performances right and are beaten by a better side fair enough, at least then we can take pride from the game! Hey how does 6 points on that mug that manages Farnborough sound......Keep with it!
Top Cat
First half we were in contention, however Sutton were a different team in the second, upped their game and we weren’t up to it, and that’s not the first time we’ve been left wanting. There’s still some hope, however that will soon depend of other teams loosing, which is not a nice place to be. Something needs to change, while we still have our destiny in our own hands. …….. ‘C'mon u Blues’ it’s not over till the Fat……….
Eastside Urchin
It's so tight down there I don't envisage anyone bar Truro being out of it until the sat game or two. Staines, tonbridge, yourselves,us,Eastbourne,Hayes, maidenhead etc are all still deep in it. Eastbourne have a horrendous run in,had they lost last night they would probably think they were deep in trouble, but winning gives them a bit to play with but that could all change, our last two games have given us renewed hope when everyone including many of our fans thought we was doomed,we are far from our of it but two games can make everything seem so much more rosier
Paul J
It's a long way back from here and we probably need 5 wins from our remaining games to survive. Unfortunately I can't see where the next point is coming from let alone the next 15. Based on our current form it would be the greatest and most unlikely of escapes if we get out of this one now. I don't think it's a lack of effort that is our downfall. It's more of a fact that we're just not good enough at the moment to compete with sides when they start playing it around and through us like Sutton did in the 2nd half last night. Sutton were no world beaters but they played simple and effective football which our young and inexperienced team didn't have the ability or know how to handle. I agree with Gazza that IF we do go down we must take it as an opportunity to have a real 'drains up' review of what went wrong and get our house in order going forward. This needs to involve everyone as we will only recover if we all pull together and have a clear strategy of where we are going and how we are doing it so we can get back to this level again and be competitive. Brightside Bloke
First half i thought both teams we as level as you can get player for player. As one of their players said in the bar afterwards they were as desperate for a win as we were. They came out at half time knowing they had to only step it up a touch to take the game and sure enough they did jut that. We came into this league as champions of the Ryman premier league. We started the season with a team that were well gelled and played for each other. I'd happily see some of the lad's that were deemed not good enough for this league back with us again just to unite the team. At the moment we are bringing players from leagues way down the system to help us out and unfortunately thats just not happening. I know budget wise we are restricted but the old adage if it aint broke don't fix it comes to mind. We can still mathematically do this but letting simple goals slip in time and time again is not going to fix it. Something has to be sorted defence wise or were screwed. I thought the sutton supporters & players were a nice bunch of guy's quite refreshing from some of the dross we have had of late. WE CAN STILL DO THIS. But not individually it has to be a team effort on & off the pitch COYB
Bill of Shenfield
Didn't think we played well enough, Sutton passed it far better than we did and always had an out ball. They deserved the win and we didn't. If we had played like we did on Saturday we would have had a chance but we did'nt. We must play better than this to have any chance. Rich.m
Whatever league we are in next season we need to have a look at ourselves and get a structure in place to take the club, off the field to its best possible place.
nat
Whatever league we are in next season we need to have a look at ourselves and get a structure in place to take the club, off the field to its best possible place. I suggest you need to get a new manager. A 'revolving door' selection policy and a bad disciplinary record are a sure fire recipe for problems. Paul J
Craig has made the best of what he has had at his disposal in his time at the club. He is definitely the man to take us forward next year whatever league we are in.

GazzaBTFC
I agree... I think it would be nice to see what Craig could do if the budget wasn't so tight
Brightside Bloke
Craig has always been straight with us. He told us he aimed for bigger things when he came in and he delivered on that. If you don't have the money then it will always be lower league players that will be bought in, Unfortunately they just are not good enough (as yet) to get us out of the fix were in. So i for one don't agree with nat
SUFC
After three games without a goal I did not arrive at your ground with much confidence. It just proves how sides can turn things around. I spoke to a few of you and like me you support your club through the good and bad times. All the best of luck for the remainder of the season, Bar one game ;-)
Ryan.c
For my money Craig Edwards has done and continues to do an excellent job. We got here on a limited budget and are trying to stay here on a limited budget. It aint easy. If we go, he should stay.
