Town vs Kingstonian

After Kingstonian beat Cray 9-3 (on the Saturday after our 5-1 Tuesday win over them), we drew with them 1-1. Since then they've scored one league goal in 5 games, losing them all.

By all accounts their midfield go missing at times (bit like us at times!), and they're not too organised at set pieces. They had a man sent off on Saturday, but still managed to hit the bar and the post.

They are pacey up front, but then so are we. If we played like we did against them when we drew 1-1, playing most of the second half with 10 men after JO'B was sent off we'll have a sporting chance.

C'mon the Town. Let's win every tackle, chase back and concentrate. No switching off at set pieces tonight.

Looks like being on the chilly side for those of us there tonight so wrap up:

Great support down at Concord on Saturday, sure to be a few of us there tonight so let's get behind the team.

Not much more to add so will just repeat my post from the 18th from above:

Pitch is a good surface down there, should be able to pass the ball.Hopefully Tyler has recovered from his ankle knock he picked up on Saturday - he was last seen with his foot up in the dug out after being subbed.

Wonder if the experiment with Sturgess in midfield will continue, or will we see Hammett or even Hunt back in the starting 11? Maybe even a reserve on the bench? I'd put Gunz just off Hope up front, get Henry back in mid with Tyler, JOB and Bardle. Hopefully Lockie might be back as Kendall has struggled at right back the last two games.

The K's are certainly there for the taking tonight, their 3rd game in 5 days but as with Concord who had a similar fixture back log this counts for nothing if the lads dont fight for the game! The K's are also on a poor run, 1 win in their last 9 league games which was a 2-1 victory over Lewes, they drew with us and have lost 7 of the others so their form isn't that good and are defiantly there to be beaten!

One thing I did notice on the K's website is that they have had a poll for supporters to vote on the clubs new strips for next season and I think this is something as a club that we could possibly look to do in the future.

A better team effort tonight.

Lee Allan in midfield did very well and Liam got both goals which we all hope will boost his confidence.

Jay came on and did well pushing forward.

Jonathan Hunt improved second half and set up both goals.

Still room for improvement but overall much improved.

Well done to all.

A good 3 points.

Can't fault anyone tonight. In fact, credit to all 14 players on the pitch.

A superb second half performance that completely overran Ks. If their Geordie mouthpiece of a manager says anything about being unlucky then he's more of an idiot than he comes across on Youtube.

And to the Ks fans giving Kirby stick in the first half for being fat - I would rather have a slightly rotund centre half who's a winner than the listless money grabbing shower you put out on the park.

No photos from me for this one I'm afraid. With the printing deadline for Monday's programme already gone I decided to watch a full game for a change.

The early stages were reminiscent of Sturday with a lot of good work from us in midfield leading to very few goal attempts - apart from one good chance for Hunt that almost caught the keeper out on his near post - and then a goal for them from near enough their first decent attempt. The aforementioned keeper did something I've never seen before. He decided he didn't like the match ball so called for a replacement from a ball boy and threw the original behind the goal line. As that ball was live (he'd received it from a drop ball after play was stopped for an injury) the referee correctly gave a corner. Oh how we'd have laughed had we scored from it but we didn't.

Second half Jonathan Hunt quickly showed that someone had reminded him how good a player he is and he looked like the the player we signed in the autumn. A 2-1 win which could have been more with Michael Bardle shaving the post and Liam Hope squandering a great chance for his hat trick, beating the offside trap but putting his shot too close to the keeper.
