Sunday 17th March Game

We need more of the young lads to come along, the ones who always show for the Muratti and can cause opposing keepers some difficulty with their constant banter behind the goal. Seems to me that in The Garenne you have extremes of young children and older fans, which is not conducive to chanting. I've been sat close to Sir Geoffrey on occasion and it is slightly unnerving if you want to give it some !

Would that be Boycott, thats not Cricket.

We got there early for the cup final at Farnborough last season and Sir Geoffrey came over and had a lovely chat with us. He is a really decent bloke. I was surprised to see him there but you could see the passion in him for the GFC. Hopefully I will get to chat to him again at Wembley!

I'd have a word with Geoffery and give him a nip of brandy and get him to join in the singing!

awful name dropping of someone most haven't heard of!

Tight game indeed with South Park performing well and deserving something from the game. They did waste some chances though and while Tardiff was very good they should have put away at least 1 of their chances. In the first half they had a couple of 2 v2's that they didn't make the most of.

That said the pitch looked very tricky to play on and the ball wasn't running all that smoothly making it a messy game at times with clean passes often hard to come by! taking players on also looked hard work with the ball holding a bit.

I agree with the person who commented on GFC players pulling out of tackles a fair bit. I noticed this quite early on and wonder if they were being wary of getting injuries with so many games to come and when playing on a pitch where they could easily pick up an injury. This kind of caution will cause them plenty of problems though if they feel they can't commit to challenges as South Park were winning a lot more balls than they should have been.

Hopefully the rain buggers off and the pitch can improve a bit!

Enjoyed the comical outburst from the South Park number 2 who felt very strongly about having his leg caught by Jamie Dodd. He seemed to spend an age pointing at his shin to the ref then doing it some more. the players moved away then after a chat with hie lino he called them back which gave him another chance to start excitedly pointing at his shin!

I hope both of the South Park Number 2's little legs are still in good working order after his trip to Guernsey

Well they are very little, so he has to look after them as best he can! In all fairness, he did have a couple of nasty stud marks on the inside of his leg but im sure this wasnt intentional.

As previously mentioned, all the players seemed to be decent enough lads with no nasty moments in the match and a chat with a couple after the game certainly gave me the impression they are pretty grounded group. Stand out player for me was number 11, at least certainly in the first half anyway.
