Match Fixing Claim

Recommended Posts

BBC Sport retweeted a statement from Dan Roan (some sort of sports correspondent) saying this. "The FA and gambling commision contact all 22 conference south clubs having become aware of suspicious betting activity among matches" what do we think of this? Would bring an understanding of why referees are so bad

Interesting that 4 or 5 Bookies that offer odds on all other BSS matches tomorrow have not, as yet, offered odds on ours or Chelmo's fixtures. Or that's what it loooks like on Oddschecker.com.

Edit:-

Hadn't seen this when I initially posted the above...

According to a twitter conversation I have just had with Alan Alger, som firms have not been offering odds on all 3 teams for weeks.

Seems Hornchurch smashing Chelmsford may of pushed the bookies over the edge, not surprising seeing as the battering they took at Cheltenham early in the week

"Hornchurch is not in Essex."

Bugger me - there's pedantry for you. What's your criteria? Political boundary?

In that case Southampton is not in Hampshire; Reading is not in Berkshire; and yes, Hornchurch is not in Essex. Oh, and neither is Southend. We'll stop playing in the ESC and play in the LSC shall we?

Can't believe I've posted on this thread to make a comment on something (potentially) important and got railroaded by that.

Whats your criteria for thinking Hornchurch is in Essex?.Any time you want to put your money were your mouth is I'm always up for a bit of easy money.

It isn't particularly relevant to the thread whoever is correct Alan.

I don't think that either Billericay or Hornchurch would be involved in anything like this.

Back on topic! The FA and Gambling Commision have written to ALL 22 Conference South clubs. It's only the BBC that have reported about some bookmakers not taking bets on ourselves, Hornchurch or Chelmo. As stated above, some bookies haven't been laying odds on us for a while and some bookies haven't offered odds on Truro all season. Because bookies ain't laying the odds doesn't mean there's something dodgy about any of us or any individual within those clubs. It probably means they've taken a pounding from the far east and they don't like it!
