CCL v SSML (Tonite)

Recommended Posts

Uncle T - With respect, what stupid and nasty comments are you and others actually referring to, a few home truths from time to time don't do any harm and surely that's the bread and butter of a Forum such as this, if the likes of Keeps, Ref Off Ref and Winslow Boy don't like the heat then perhaps they need to get out of the kitchen.

F**k off you TW@T.

You do nothing other than mock the same old clubs, any info you have is normally weeks old, not SSML related or just from your countless Internet trawling.

You never attend games so therefore your being on here is of no use to anyone whatsoever, except for the people who run this site and think you're Jesus f*****g Christ.

So to the people who run this site, tone him right down, ban him completely if he don't heed the warnings, or run the risk of losing proper football people....your choice

With respect, I am trying to monitor his postings although I am not here 24 hours a day seven days a week. If people could PM me with any complaints re a posting then I could deal with it and not turn any thread into a mud slinging affair, once you start the latter then you become just as guilty as the original poster.

Got to agree with Karen on this one....you are all biting on his line and he is loving it!

Like I said before ignore the chap....every single post just don't respond, it will make him look worse than he is already!

But I can understand its easier said than done.

On the note of traffic on this site without him, I think it's got more than enough now as we have lots of new people posting as well as guys who are on everyday.

You do a great job I just think its a bit rich Ian closing down threads when it concerns that muppet Rhodes yet he does absolutely nothing about his constant stream of lies and nonsense. I have ignored as MM8 suggested I've not responded but it seems that he is a protected species on here and I am so bored of reading his $hite and then when he gets it back site admin step in. I also agree plenty of traffic and actually some great stuff without him (although great when he posts results, reports and occasionaly some informative links) Goodnight from me

AGREE 100%

Some of Rhodes comments would bother me if he was connected to a club but he never goes to any games does he i wonder how many SSML games he has been to this season ? he must be embarrassed by the fact he never goes to ANY football matches.

According to the FA website the match on 28 March is not going ahead and the tie has been awarded to the Middlesex League as the SSML side has been withdrawn. Can anyone confirm if that is correct and if so why?

Yes it is correct

11. FA Inter-League Cup 2013-14

11.1. Sadly, due to a lack of interest amongst players, it was agreed that the Spartan South Midlands League would have to withdraw from the competition. Appreciation was expressed for the work of Tring Corinthians Manager Simon Lacey and his assistants who had expended a considerable amount of time and energy in their efforts to put together a Step 7 side to represent the League.

Im sure they could have found 15 SSML Division 2 players to play the game even if some were Reserves or U18s players.

I'm sure some of you are aware of this but did you know that success in this competition means you represent England in Europe, which means you get the full treatment, wear the three lions, medical/coaching support etc?

It's an amazing opportunity and I don't think you're the only Step 7 league not to have grasped the opportunity.

I wasn't asked!

Unless you play in Division Two then you wouldn't have been (and the last time I looked Southall were in Division One) - it's for clubs at Step 7

I had spoken about the game with my lad a couple of months ago and he was hoping to get a call, but he didn't and isn't aware of any of the other Risborough players being asked either. Of course it may be that some were asked as I wouldn't like to assume anything.

My guess is Aston and some other teams were not interested due to fixture backlog.

They could have played fringe players, Reserves or even U18s in the SSML team i cant understand how just 15 players couldnt have been put together.

Also im sure that the Middlesex teams have fixture backlogs aswell ?

There are only 4 division 2 clubs with reserve sides in ssml. 2 of which, including mine are the bottom 2 teams. I doubt many have under 18's either.

My point was I don't think they contacted many clubs which Deano seems to imply as well. I think the league are partly to blame by not enforcing clubs to release players. They could have ensured that a maximum of 2 players selected per club and if they were not available they could not play in the next league game.

lets hope that Simon Lacey does a better job, he certainly couldn’t do any worse

How wrong could I have been, at least Richard Everitt managed to raise a team, albeit all The 61 FC players. Simon Lacey should hang his head in shame shouldn't he.
