A poor lack-luster performance.

Far too many players under achieved.

Far too many players did not show a desire to win.

Brought home the fact that there is a great deal of improvement required and new players needed to this squad if Town are to stay at this level.

One of those days...yes, but some of the squad on show today just not good enough I am afraid.

They missed the chance to stake a claim to be in the starting eleven.

Don't think we were quite as bad as has been suggested, though it was definitely a poor day for us.

Ultimately we were probably beaten by a better side but we had enough chances to get something out of the game, we just didn't take them - and the Margate keeper made a couple of top saves.

Not seen Jonathan Hunt play that poorly before - but I accept that it's difficult for the likes of him and Liam to step straight in when they've not been playing enough on a regular basis. Match fitness doesn't come from sitting on the bench - hopefully they'll both benefit from the game and be sharper next time.

Tyler stepped up yesterday, I thought, and played pretty well but we don't seem to have much of a Plan B at the moment. We've been playing really well lately and the system we've been playing suits Adam and Scott - was always going to be difficult without them but I didn't think that system suited the players we played yesterday. The performance was very much along the lines of those we were seeing before Scott arrived - worrying if he's going to be out for a while? Liam is still a goalscorer though so we need to find a way of playing that suits him more if we're to win games without Scott.

OT

Very harsh comments I think. We missed Scotty and Gunz up front. It wasn't the best performance but credit to Margate who look a very decent side.

Its a tough run of fixtures against Margate, Kingstonian, Concord and Bury ... all teams in top half of table/play off chasing...

I think 2 more wins and we're safe which was the aim at the beginning of season.

Fair enough - it's all about opinions and we all have varied views of these games.

My point was that the players coming in had the chance to stake a place for a few games but ( in my opinion ) they did not perform.

Scott is missed, of course, but talking to him yesterday, he may be back next week or he may leave. Only he knows.

Gunz hopes to be back next Saturday.

If fit, both should come straight into the side, which is a shame for those who deputised yesterday.

If we play Monday, let's hope for a bit more energy and desire to make it difficult for SN to change the side on Saturday.

I think OT's comments were fair. I am not sure what happened at half time, but we did not show up in the second half. Margate were quicker, stronger in the tackle and generally first to the ball. However, we had our chances but didn't take them.

Let's not forget there were chances for both sides in the first half, slightly more for Margate admittedly, but LH produced a superb save from their keeper, and a Tyler shot to the far corner that was curling in was blocked about 3 yards out. If it was level at HT I don't think anyone in the ground would have complained. We certainly had most of the play in the first half once we went behind.

Second half we didn't turn up, their left mid/winger (#14) was running away at will. Lockie looked like he had a re-occurrence of his leg injury and went off, Kendall tried but just no pace to cope with the #14. It was an attacking option well exploited by Margate. And they nullified Tyler very well in the second half - he was excellent first half for us but didn't see much of the ball after the break.
