Frome (a) - Red Insure Cup

I see from the Frome website report that they are confirming that the ball coming down from the crossbar was comfortably in the goal and how unlucky we were not to get the second goal awarded I wish them well for the final they have already won at Arlesey in the league this season so must have a good chance.

Last night was a decent performance for the most part. Nobody really put a foot wrong (apart from Danny Murphy, the less said about whom the better), and it seems we were desperately unlucky with the crossbar incident.

It quietened down a bit during the second half, but did get to see some comedy with their No.15 passing up a 1-on-1 with Hawtree to run parallel to the goal for no apparent reason!

On the whole, it was a nice distraction (last night, not the run leading upto it) but not at all disappointed to go out, despite the promise of a glamour-tie against Arlesey.

Maybe it was because it was a cup competition, or possible to do with the half-decent pitch, but I think we played with quite a lot of freedom last night and looked significantly more threatening than we do during most league games.

So where were you when we won 4 games in a row Hotspur? Certainly not on here praising the team like real fans do, and oh look, you've appeared when we lost our first game in 6.

And as people cannot control how old they are, your comment about watching more games is irrelevant (ignoring the fact that the game has changed quite a lot), as we will still be here watching Slough after you are long gone.

I'll take your opinions seriously when you actually give the team the praise they deserve for winning matches. We have still lost only 9 games this season, including 4 in the cups. If we won all the time you wouldn't have anything to moan about.

Always there you chump.Seen more Slough games than you have brain cells ( oops that would not be many by that criteria )

Hotspur: you are only kidding yourself. You are a sad individual with no life and a negative attitude. Show

some balls and turn up for a meet with your grandsons (if they exist that is).

I know I am relatively new to ‘posting’ on this board (although been a viewer for a very long time) and have always avoided commenting on individuals, but for what it’s worth, felt compelled to post on the subject of the negative / wind up comments by certain ‘fans’.

For me, a fan is a fan whether they have been watching Slough since the old Greyhound stadium or whether they never stepped a foot in Wexham Park and only recollection of Slough games is Holloways. That surely is a good thing right, because we need young fans to continue supporting the Rebels, like my granddad in the 60s, my dad in the 70s, me in 83 when I was 6 and so on…… No point having a nice new stadium (promises, promises) with the crowds that Beaconsfield and Burnham get right?

Anyways….

So, I was having my normal daily morning view at the Slough Town message board with my cuppa at work (just painting the picture here ;) and was reading down this particular thread, just looking at the comments (and not the nicknames), when I saw the negative comment (completely out of context to the previous comments) I automatically thought, that’s GOT TO BE either old ram or hotspurs, then I looked at the poster and low and behold, it was Hotspur.

This will be my only post on the individual, but personally, I don’t get wound up by the fella and genuinely find his comments (dare I say) quite amusing as he clearly is on a wind up (and he KNOWS it WORKS). The more you feed him, the more he will swallow the insults (as insults to Hotspur are like bullets to Superman).

Maybe it’s just me, but I don't understand why so many people get wound up by him as it is easy to sit behind a computer and have a dig (or be a big man) however you want to put it. People are doing it on message boards all over the country. I guess I have never been one to rise to this kind of bait, so suggest maybe if he annoys the hell out of most, then hit that IGNORE button and it will soon stop.

Look, maybe he is genuinely a diehard Slough fan as he claims to be (and with the way that he speaks / comes across, I believe shows the era he was brought up – ie, old school / old fashioned etc…) or maybe he is a fan of one of our rivals who realises that most rise to the bait, so the negative posts will keep coming. I don’t know, just my thoughts….

Calling him out is really a waste of time, as from reading the number of previous posts / threads, it is as CLEAR AS DAY that Hotspur will never ever in a month of Sundays introduce his true self to the Slough fans (most probably, in fear of reaction he would get), so I wouldn’t waste your breath. I would see it like that famous scene from Airplane where the woman is going hysterical and you had Leslie Neilson shaking her, then behind him as the camera pans out, is a row of people with various weapons waiting for their shot.

From the way he comes across in his posts, I do believe he is an ‘older’ generation gentleman, I was bought up to respect my elders (even if they annoy the bloody hell out of me ;) so genuinely suggest ignore or don’t respond (he will soon fade away).

OK, essay over (sorry) guys and girls.

Onwards and upwards, lets aim for those play offs then anything extra is a bonus (see you at Fleet tomorrow).

COYR!!!!

YOU DONT GET WOUnD UP BY MY POSTINGS-and there you are writing huge amounts of words to the contrary !!

If as you say you read the posts more than writing many, you will have noticed that members of my family actually played for the rebels apart from 3 generations of support-so in my book that entitles me to have my say when the team let me down with their poor performances.I USE TO THINK in the old days 60's and 70's that WYOCMBE supporters were the most biased ever-but some on here have rose tinted glasses 2 or 3 inches thick ! Anyway not a bad post old son but must try harder next time .

I actually thought I was quite diplomatic with my wording, compared to others (tried to show some respect to the old school one).

Oooops, I think I may have touched a nerve, cap locks, a history lesson AND a compliment (all in the same post), thank you kind sir, I will take that and politely be the first to put you on ignore ;)

There you go fellow Rebels, think I found Superman's Kryptonite.....

See you all at Fleet and the blocked one at Adams Park!!!

It would appear you are not as clever as you tried to come across -not understanding what you read is very lapsed-not being a wycombe fan you will not see me at adams park-because Slough are unlikely to be playing there in the near future. As for childishly puting me on ignore, does me the honour of having one less muppet to educate lol !!!
