Cant complain about team performance and effort.

Can complain about loads of other things, but it wont help.

Okay,

Ref, lack of decisions, lack of luck, 100% pen with ref 2.0m away, hitting the post, and on and on, BUT, it dont help.

Should have got a point.

Get up and get on with Hampton sat.

This one has gone - next game, same attitude, bit more luck.

With Scott going off with what appeared to be a pulled hamstring and Adam seeming to be carrying an injury and also being subbed (very unusual event) the squad does seem a little thin up front now.

Laird is clearly not fit. Will Matata play a full 90 mins on Saturday?

I think the thing that McGleish has brought us (apart from goals of course) is his hold up play. It's so tough playing up front on your own, which is effectively the system we're employing, with Bryan (at the moment) sitting in an advanced midfield role, and Scott has been doing a fantastic job. For me, of the players listed above, Laird looks the most capable of holding the ball and bringing others in to play (I remember him doing this very well when we played Wingate in the Div1 North a couple of seasons back). As for his fitness, I'd want to let Steve and the coaching staff make that call - I'm sure they know better than we do.

It's good to have options though, and we do have a decent mix of players who could play there - I'm not sure we could play the same formation / system without someone to hold the ball and bring others into the game though.

Gutted about last night - I could only get there at half time, but from what I saw, and heard, it really was a smash and grab by Concord - who, to give them some credit, defended very well at times. I think as Steve tweeted, we created enough chances to win the game by a few, but we just didn't take them. Oh well - that's football, and in a couple of weeks, what's to say we'll not sneak a lucky 3 points when a side is all over us?

FJ

Whilst all of the above named could play the central striker's role. It is only Matata who could put in the work rate to replace Adam. Hammatt is a regular now and if he was to take the central striker's role then we would have to find a replacement for him! Johnstone?

Glad I'm not the manager and we have someone to do it for us. :D

Highlights are below. Points -

1) 11m 09secs - Think it was a bit harsh on Concord for us to be given the penalty Scott hit post with. Their seven seemed to be turning away from the ball... more a case of ball to hand?

2) 14m 20secs - This definately was handball in the box. Sure people behind the goal will be able to confirm....Did ref not give it as the previous handball decision was fresh in his mind?

A decent game and we were the better side so lots to take from the game. I hope Gunz and Scotty's (should he stay or go?) injuiries are only knocks. Sure how we all felt last night was how Wingate were thinking when we beat them 2-1 in the first home game of the season. They were easily better side then.

Man of the match last night was either Tyler or Jey for me. Jey probably just shaded it as he worked so hard up and down the left hand side and across the pitch when taking the numerous corners and free-kicks.

Looking forward to a nice trip to Hampton on Saturday.

Fair play to Concord, they are a good physical hard working side who may go up via the play-offs and they are still our league bogey side! Seems amazing to think they may be at the same level as Stockport County and/or Lincoln City (both ex league clubs flirting with relegation from the conference) next season.

Matata does work hard and is probably the replacement for Wallace but he isnt good enough to play through the middle. I disagree with the point on McGeish holding the ball up! I actually think this is his least effective attribute. He is excellent in the air but with the ball into feet both Laird and Hope are better. His goals have been fantastic for us as have his work rate, attitude and aerial presence but for me back to goal he doesn't do alot. As for Hammatt - IMO he could not play that role and as for being a regular i would rather have Hunt, Johnstone or another attacking player in there to be honest. I'm not sure what Hammatt really offers???

On last night, i though either Tyler or White for MOM.

CD Towner-Hammett has come in and results have been positiveas have the performances of the team. What Bryan offers is experience of being in the correct positions defensively and playing simple passes when in possession as well as intelligent decision making.

Although we'd need a younger fitter Bryan if we are going to seriously progress. But you can't complain of his contribution since being called in.

Correct positions defensively?!!!! He's playing just off the striker!

Defence starts from the front and Bryan does a lot of good work to reduce opportunities for counter attacks. Like his booking at Finchley: he took one for the team before the player reached half way. Earlier in the season that breakout would have gone a lot further.
