Under Holloway-so far so good ?

Notwithstanding that we lost 6 out of 7 games, and the fact that we are now out of the top 5 i would suggest that CH and SO have put MFC in a better position than we were when CK left.

I reckon CK is a very good manager-and from the little i know-in terms of man management/people handling skills-probably second to none (congrats on BSS manager of the month),but i always felt our top 3 position under CK was a bit false-and the crows were just coming home to roost in december/january.

I reckon CK realised that as well, and it may have been a small factor in him leaving.

Had he had stayed-he may have added to the squad;but generally,CK did very little 'tinkering' once he put his original squads together.

Not one for wholesale changes myself either;but always feel squads need a couple of players to refresh things for second half of season.

CH and SO appear to have done exactly that (and good for the board for allowing/funding it ).

Whats more-they have done it down the all important spine.

Vines, brown, purcell;possibly IBe and then the very good campbell at left back-a position most could see we were'nt great in before.

The squad as it is now-despite the early losses seems alot better to me than when CK left.

CK may have done similar-indeed-i think he tried to get Sterling to margate-but i doubt hether he would have done as much as CH and SO.Will never know.

Personally-completely ambivalent as to whether we make the play-offs or not this season-but overall, i would say CH has got us in a better position now to do exactly that ,than we were when CK left

well done.

Agree re home form - always better to perform in front of your own fans and we are playing decent football!

I now see a new team with a solid spine and ample depth to cope with injuries

.

Very pleased..... so far and I include all the players in that, even those getting some stick at home.

I do wish some Margate supporters would encourage the players allegedly out of form in their opinion and keep the negative comments to their own council ! Every little helps.

As ever Up the Gate

Record so far P7 W3 D0 L4. Thing is, all the homes have been won and most of our fans only see the home games so people are happy.

Lets look at those away defeats from my perspective as I was there for 3 of them.

Wingate & Finchley: It was the first game we had played for weeks and was the first game for the new management team. The goal we conceded was due to the ball hitting a sand patch and not bouncing so could be considered unlucky. However, we did squander a number of chances. A draw would have been a fair result.

Lowestoft : Can not comment as was not there.

Wealdstone: We were winning for 85 minutes and should have held on BUT there were some debatable decisions which effected the result. Should have been a win.

Met Police: A deflected shot beat Craig when he had the original one covered. A stupid second yellow for Vines which was not warranted. Yet again a draw would have been a fair result.

So overall in my opinion we should have got at least 5 points from those 3 matches and no fault can be apportioned to anyone of the team that is at MFC now.

In a shout for the playoffs at this time of the season.... Anyone who knows anything would have a taken this before the season starts.

I think we have played the top teams mostly in recent weeks... Therefore easier(if there is such a thin) games to come... Hopefully good run of wins into the playoffs

Signs are really promising. At Hendon today. Great team performance and deserved more than the point but feeling very hopeful of play offs after today's performance. Despite missing players the team including new arrivals played some great passing football and prevented Hendon from offering much despite their recent form. Have to say CH and SO have brought in some very promising players. I think squad is stronger now than at start of season and playing entertaining football. CK who?

think CK jumped ship when he saw our next 7 fixtures,, Whitehawk, Met Police, Hampton, Lowestoft ect

CH has done well... play offs,,, yes for sure..

tho with MFC nothing is certain,,, after all in 2001 i paid money for a brick in the new stadium,, 10 years on,, no new stadium and no chance of one in the near future,
