A plea to Pitchero users

Recommended Posts

I have found it impossible to upload tables (scorers, historical league stats) on the Egham Town site and Pitchero's technical assistance is not a lot of use. The problems is that the Excel spreadsheet formatting does not hold on the Pitchero site, so the columns go, to say the least, wobbly. Does anyone have any tips?

Have you tried emailing Steve Whitney (steve@pitchero.com) about it, Tempest?

I've had a look at your site and I see what you mean.

I don't know the answer yet but it is something I've been meaning to do myself.

There is one way which may not be how you like it - you upload the file from your computer to Pitchero which is then viewable by clicking on the link.

I've had a play with our site and uploaded the CCL address file I have onto the site which shows you what I mean - http://www.pitchero..../documents.html

It took about ten minutes for the page to become live so don't try looking straight away.

I hope that's not a patronising answer - I don't know how good you are with PC's. I'm not brilliant myself but we're all still learning. If someone else can tell us who to keep the formatting without uploading the file it'd be great.

**edit**

I've deleted the file now so it won't work. See post below.

I think I've got it.

Copy the stuff on Excel, paste it into Pitchero and highlight what you've just pasted. Along the row of symbols to add bold, italics etc. there's a little button called 'Table from Excel'. Click on that and Bob's your auntie's live in lover. I think.

Good stuff. I've had a look at your pages and they look fine.

It's always hard pointing out where I think things could be improved as some people get the right hump so please don't take this the wrong way, but I think the position column looks better with a slash rather than the way you've done it with gaps and dots. The page I'm talking about is http://www.eghamtown...1963-31682.html

The way I think looks best is how it's done on FCHD - here's Egham Town's page on there as an example of what I mean - http://www.fchd.info/EGHAMT.HTM

Good work though.

It needs tidying up, for sure. I have to take out some lines of our "results by club" table because, for instance, we have only played Guernsey this season. I think I tried the / for the positions. Anyway, it will hardly bring in hordes of new hits.
