Spartan South Midlands Premier

Avenue Park

London Tigers 0-5 Oxhey Jets

Admission : £5 + £1 programme - bit thin but adequate.

Attendance : h/c 25

Directions/Facilities: head E on M40 to end - continue on A40 for nearly 7 miles - watch for left turn and a 'gert' big sign for London Tigers just before the Greenford exit A4127.

Small kitchen/lounge area - did Cans (J.Smiths/Fosters) hot drinks, crisps sweets etc - some signs suggested hot food occasionally available but not today.

Car Park fairly small and cramped but good enough for their average crowd.

Match: eventually an easy win for Oxhey who scored three late on to gloss up the final score a bit. Big No 10 (Putman) was quick but fell over a lot - looking for fouls that weren't really there. Tigers got a bit frustrated with their own performance and weren't enamoured of a vocally strong ref. Home RB seemed incapable of taking a legal throw-in - was called for foul throws at least half-a doz times.

Easy journey home M40/A404(M) M4 etc back indoors by 17:40. Only three to go in this division now.

A hard earned point at home to Harefield. Thought first half we were very good, 1-0 up from a good header from a great cross. Second half we went 2-1 down, poor decision making cost us. But we rallied and we worked hard and earned a penalty for a handball and scored. Our goalkeeper pulled off a tremendous save in a 1 on 1 in the last second of the game as well.

As said in the changing room, against London Colney we stood firm for over an hour, same applied today. We seem to be getting harder to break down.

Must add, the referee was very good today

away from Rhodes' crap:

credit to Aylesbury United...an attendance of 181 on Saturday-very impressive. There average is currently 5 under Aylesbury FC- a stat I'm sure will delight them. Dearly hope to see an AUFC vs. AFC fixture.

FC inflate their figure absolutely no question having spoken to people who have watch a number of games and did head counts. Lots of teams inflate I always notice Pitstone post high ish figures I've played there and watched games there a lot and there is no bugger there ever.

very interesting! Something to do with feeling inadequate next to AUFC? (especially considering AUFC don't even play in Aylesbury!!!)

Cockfosters had 3 sent off according to Harpenden's Twitter feed but still won 3-2.

Yeah I saw that sendings off could have been late in the game or after final whistle can't see 8 men beating anyone

From Cockfosters website

An amazing game at Harpenden Town saw Cockfosters clinch a vital victory in a game that saw the Reds lead all the way through but have to hang on with eight players at the end as three saw Red.

In the opening five minutes both Richard Morton and Denis Maharjan tried their luck but to no avail and visiting skipper Paul Marks was cautioned for an over enthusiastic tackle, the visitors being determined not to let the hosts bully them. With 22 minutes gone it was only correct the Cockfosters took the lead as an Emond Protain flick fell to LORENZO FERRARI on the edge of the area and his drive nestled in the net. This gave the visitors more confidence and with seven minutes to the break the home centre half made a disastrous error which FERRARI pounced on and drilled home. Cockfosters were dreaming of a third goal before the break and their dream came true with less than two minutes of the half to go as a well rehearsed corner saw the ball fall to RICHARD MORTON whose thunderbolt hit the net with great force.

Thirteen minutes into the second half and confusion ruled as the referee gave a the hosts an indirect free kick in the area despite the Cockfosters keeper seemingly being the one who had been fouled, the referee then changed his decision to a penalty and sent skipper Paul Marks off, after the delay JIM DANGER stepped up and reduced the arrears. With 15 minutes remaining the game took another twist as a double sending off saw Cockfosters down to nine men with Luke Skeete getting an early bath, it was now backs to the wall for Cockfosters and what spirit they showed as the deficit was reduced when another free kick was awarded and Harpenden scored. With the game into added time and Cockfosters waiting for the whistle to secure a potentially vital three points Emond Protain saw red to leave Cockfosters with eight men, the reds played the clock down and returned to Dacre Field with three hard won and well deserved points.

Next up for Cockfosters is a visit from Hadley before League Leaders Hoddesdon Town visit Dacre Field next Saturday.

Yes was there and a proper supported club, personally thought the crowd was over 200. Brilliant

Nice on KB

Unfortunately the suspensions start after we play them later this month.

If all three get three match bans then clubs to benefit are Chesham United Reserves and Langford (League) along with Hoddesdon Town (Division One Cup)

Don't know how clubs get the attendances figures wrong. For instance we played Southall the other week if there was 20 people there I would be surprised yet the attendance was recorded as 50 ? I've seen some ridiculous figures recorded at some of our away games maybe some people just can't count or just big the figure up.
