Dave Collis

With the sad news of Craig Edwards Jnr's injury, it is doubly disturbing that Dave Collis has departed. He was just the type of player we needed in a relegation dogfight.

Whatever has happened behind the scenes, I for one, would like to wish him all the best and thank him for his efforts at Billericay (I remember the snow clearance last season, not to mention a few thunderbolts )

Gutted to see Collis go. Numerous stories doing the rounds with regards to his departure but regardless he will leave a massive hole in the team. Not often can you find such a spirited hard working player who seems to be so passionate about the club he plays for.

Plenty of good memories lets hope his departure doesn't tarnish all that he helped to achieve for the blues.

Good luck Dave and thanks

This to me is symptomatic of why we are in a relegation battle. A stable squad has been dismantled and we have lost experienced players such as Collis, Greg Oates , even Harrison Chatting etc and replace them with a revolving door of players. I know finances require us to keep very tight control which I guess means non contract and loan players but it is going to be so hard to get out of that relegation zone when the players have to introduce themselves at the start of each game.

I am sure there is a story behind this but I am really annoyed at the loss of Dave Collis who is just the type of battler we need.

It is very hard to criticise when I know very little about the inner workings of a football club or team, still I can't help feeling that the stable squad we had last year was a major factor in our success, and it's quite hard keeping up with the sheer amount of players we've got through this year.

Nonetheless I still have faith in Craig to reverse our fortunes and keep us in the league. Let's hope we celebrate that as much as we did last years' promotion if (when) it happens, since it essentially exactly the same battle.

Big game tomorrow, good luck boys

Interestingly I think we used 46 players last season as opposed to 42 so far this season. Allowing for injuries today's side could contain no fewer than 11 from last years squad.

I can't think of anyone who has left from last years squad that is playing Conference South which tells a tale.
