I think that's a very good point. For parsons especially to thrive, we have to be playing 4-4-2. The only issue this gives us is too many class central midfielders for 2 positions. We now have Martin, burgess, d Deeney and Anthony. If Anthony slots in at centre back to fit him in the team that means dropping browney which is another difficult choice. It's a good problem but could result in unhappy players again like we saw with sonner at the start if the season.

Before we get carried away, with winning the last four games, I suggest we wait till we play some of the top 6 teams before we go overboard and say we must play 4-4-2 and who those players should be.

We have a very good squad to choose from and strength in all positions to choose from. Our biggest cause for concern at the moment is at centre half, not in centre midfield where we have an abundance of talent, should Steve Bateman use it.

We should adapt our style/formation to suit the type of team we play.

Yes,it's good we are now picking up points and confidence grows as a result of this but we really haven't played the better teams of this division of late [bar Guildford where we drew],so there is still a long way to go!

Also Jake Parsons and Stuart Swift are both too good a player to be classed as just wingers. They could play just behind the front two,if we ever tried it and both could play in a midfield three if we play 3-5-2, as well as other positions.

Nothing says you have to play players in their usual positions. To me,that lacks foresight and adventure.

................................Warro...............................

....................Brown..........Woozley...................

Deeney...............Anthony..................Rhone....

..........Burgess.......Martin.........Swift................

.................Burnell............Smith........................

4-1-3-2

Formation with anthony and martin swapping positions when needed or replace the more attacking position with parsons.

Nothing wrong with that line up,SR. Looks well balanced actually.

Being a Spurs fan,I often feel that Steve Bateman is too cautious and predictable in his picking of line-up's. I would imagine that had he been running Tottenham Hotspur these last 5 years,he would still be playing Gareth Bale at left back !!! ha ha ha!

As would many of our supporters who comment on this forum!

Thought it was a good solid performance against a team who have caused us countless problems in the past. What was really important was to take the chances and put the game to bed at half time. The second half was a comfortable cruise in second gear which with the packed fixture list is a real bonus.

Shame about Anthony's injury, hopefully he came off as a precaution rather than with a serious hammy injury. If he is injured I would like to see us go out and get another recognised centre back to compete with Wooz and Brown and to slot in to a three if that is what is required.

Another toughie today, COYR!
