Slough Town Fantasy Football League

Hello All,

 

I currently run a fantasy football league between the four of us who stand together.

 

It is a bit of fun and very simple. For next year, I will be looking to see if there is any interest from the wider Slough fanbase and run it properly and maybe make a bit of cash for the club along the way.

 

The format is very simple, it is based only on Slough games and there is a maximum of 6 points available per game. Basically 2 points for the correct result (i.e. W/D/L), 3 further points for the correct scoreline and a bonus point for naming a scorer in the match.

 

So for example, Saturday to get all six points your prediction would have been Slough 1-0 win and Burgess to score.

 

I currently collate the information through an Excel spreadsheet which I send out the morning after we play. I am happy to send this to a wider audience or can just post the table on here (the Excel also has some other info such as a predicted league table based on current standings etc).

 

I estimate that if 20% of our current average attendance were to play we would get just over 45 players. If I was to say £10 per entry for the season then we could give £250 to the club and have £200 up for grabs in various prize monies.

 

I am putting it out there early to gauge interest and also, if we are to go ahead to start getting some posters together or something so that those who don't read the forum can get involved.

 

What are everyone's thoughts on whether they would be interested?

 

If there is enough interest I will speak to someone at the club to put in place for the start of next season.

how do you enter your prediction each week, is it at the game or online before hand as not many people can make it to each game, not even hotspur.

Good to see that there is a lot of interest. A couple of extras have also approached me on Saturday to say that it was a good idea and they would be interested.

 

Who do I need to speak to about the logistics?

 

I would also assume it is the same person to speak about getting something put in the program or perhaps even a poster put up on matchdays?

Hello All,

 

Just thought I would provide an update on numbers that have so far come forward......

 

The following people have sent an E-mail:

 

Reading Rebel, Windsor Rebel, Grandad, Tristan_STFC, Don Juan DeMarcus, Martin, Slough Clarets, A Rebel and A Saint

 

Thats a total of 8 players so far.

 

There was previous interest on here from rebelade, Radders, Staines_Rebel_Jr and Rebel Trucker. Are you guys still interested.

 

When pre season kicks off next month I will start to spread the word. Also if anybody you know is interested but doesnt attend that many games then just get them to e-mail me or come on here. The more the better.
