Sutton United Vs. Molesey - SSC

Obviously we are all wishing Molesey good luck tomorrow evening.

Interesting that the game is on a Thursday at the request of SUFC to the Surrey FA as their bars were all booked out for private functions on Tuesday 26th February.

Notwithstanding what team strength of Sutton put out, Molesey had a gruelling league game last night where, thankfully, they managed to rest a couple of players; not a lot of assistance from the league here? Could this game not have been put back so as to assist The Moles?

Our extra time game with Molesey last Monday was followed by both clubs having to play again away in the league on the Thursday and no wonder we both lost. I mean, Hartley Wintney on a Thursday???

Then I hear the league weren't "too keen" on Cobham request to playing Farleigh Rovers (postponed due to MVSCR cup game last night) next Thursday.

What's that all about? It's OK to ask Epsom to travel to Guernsey on a Friday night yet Guernsey had no midweek game last week.

I accept our ground issues aren't helping with fixtures but can't we have a slightly more level playing field.

If it is ok for clubs to say no to playing CWUFC on a Friday evening, fine, but don't dictate that clubs MUST go to Guernsey on the same night!

Rant over - onwards and upwards.

Big pat on the back for Molesey tonight, they worked very hard indeed and despite the 6-2 score tried their best to keep Sutton at bay. Spent the first half in the stand and the second behind Molesey's goal, chatting to a couple of their long standing fans. Big support from some junior team members! They chanted very well through the match!

While we're talking of Thursday matches, I see that South Park and Hartley WIntney are doing battle in Reigate next Thursday, this is one I have pencilled in, the groundhopping finally takes off (after the trip to Chessington to find a rearranged match, the Molesey fans I was chatting to say this isn't an uncommon occurrance)......

Good choice, try a cheese n bacon burger while you are there, they are excellent! :)
