richards
Bit of a tragedy really, when you are at the bottom the Gods don't smile on you. To be fair Bromley were a decent side and after we went ahead through a sharpe Osborne finish they pushed us hard and scored two good goals although the second was a bit lucky as the ref missed a foul on us in the buildup. After that we looked a bit down but plugged away and equalised with a great finish from Glenn. Seemed like a hard earned point but a penalty for Bromley which went in off the post left us with nothing. Positives - the pitch looked surprisingly good after weeks of problems, well done for all the hard work from the groundstaff. Jay May and Alex Osborne worked their socks off ( couldn't see the point of bringing Taylor on, certainly not my favourite player by a long stretch). And Dave Collis should have started if fit, we need more of his passion to fight our way out of this hole. Two big away games, we really must get at least a coiple of points as the gap is widening. billericayboy28
Ability is not an issue for us,on our day we equal many teams if not better, confidence is low and we need to pick that up and thatll be difficult, interesting to see what their keeper but on Twitter
Rich.m
How frustrating, every level of football is the same. If you dont take your chances you will get punished! I'm confident that we will see a purple patch from Osborn where he will tuck away his chances over the next few games, from that goal we seemed to sit off and the first goal we conceded was shocking! If we had closed the centre forward down quicker it would of stopped the goal. 2nd half we seemed to be unsettled by the advantage no Advantage situation, the initial response was good and but for a fine save from Jay May header we would have been level. To throw away points like that in quick succession will hurt, but we need a quick turn around for Tuesday and start getting the points ticking over again on the board. Pleasing to see the club shop have shirts in now along with the jackets and a nice full colour programme. Onwards and upwards!
GazzaBTFC
I thought Bromley were ordinary and that the only difference between the two sides was that we had two clear cut chances, one early doors first half and the other, early doors second half and didn't take 'em. And at key moments our defence went missing. But those are telling differences...we appear to be goal shy (at key moments) and our defence leaks too many goals...as a friend said to me yesterday...recipie for disaster. Another point woud be that historically we do well with a settled team...something that we have missed this season (and especially in an area that the club has always prided itself as effective...defence). If people want to argue the point and (referring to another post) accentuate the positive then please do so. I am always up for a bit of positive thinking but my take on reality is that if we are to climb out of the relegation zone then we have to beat teams like Bromley and we didn't (Gods didn't need to smile yesterday...players needed to take their chances). That yesterday has made the task a lot harder with five points from safety now (two wins), the gap has and will get wider if we don't sort this out. You can quote games in hand at me all day but it's points on the board that count. It's not insurmountable and I am sure that Craig and his team will rally but lets remove those rose couloured glasses and stop beating the "gods" up. Yesterday had nothing to do about luck...to be blunt, we screwed up.
Bill of Shenfield
I think that we have not had much luck this season and this another of these games where a draw would not have been unjust. Most of the team played well enough but we had no bite in midfield, this only came when the substitution was made but it was too late by then. Hopefully things will change soon. blue pilgrim
I agree with the vast majority of comments but not those of the doom-mongers. Lets face it, Harry Redknapp would love to be in our position. Thought the pitch looked good, even after 90 mins, so well done to those who put in the hard work. Apart from seeing and ignoring the foul in the lead up to their 2nd goal, I thought the ref had a good game. No yellows, although Taylor was lucky with another act of petulance. It was a good match with open attacking football, played in a good spirit. Bromley were NOT ordinary, they played for the win and had fast pace and movement - they were better than Chelmo in the last home game. Their keeper played a blinder and on another day we would have won, despite Bromley's territorial advantage. We had new players and players coming back from injury - they deserved a point but need to keep their heads up. We are in a relegation fight and I agree about Dave Collis - if he is fit, we need his fight in front of the back four. Thought the new shirts were good and the new programme ( albeit a bit pricey). Umbrella Man
All in all not a bad effort for me gutted about dropping another point in injury time it was de ja vu was like being at Maidenhead again ,thought we deserved a point from the match. I personally believe that we are 1 good result away from going on a decent run everything is going against us at the moment ,everytime we lose it's close apart from 1 or 2 matches this season. Keep the faith people and i don't wanna hear no more of this Ryman talk We are due some luck hopefully starting on Tuesday.
New Lodger
I felt we were well worth the three points but didn't take our chances. The only time Bromley had the upper hand was the ten minutes or so before and after half time. Very disappointing to lose it so late on. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before we get a run of wins. A couple of points I disagree with Gazza BTFC firstly if we had kept a settled defence we wouldn't have signed Rodgers and Anderson, probably our two best players this season (Wild and Swaine have been CB'S all season) also we scored two goals so hardly goal shy ? Three games, leaked eight goals. Scored four. In two games we missed chances that were almost gifts. In two games we let the point slip in the last two minutes of play...so lets do the math Apologies for coming across blunt. As a supporter, I would agree that Bromley were ordinary and we have the capability to beat them. To survive we have to beat teams like Bromley. But the results, would suggest different. Both against Maidenhead and Bromley, two games where we had the chance of a point and couldn't hold out. That does not bode well if the habit is to continue. New Lodger
Ok Gazza let's do the math. We have scored four in the last three including a shut out at the league leaders, so that's four in the other two games. Welling, the leagues top scorers have scored three in the last three games maybe they are goal shy too ? I would suggest the problem lies at the other end of the pitch. You didn't answer the point about the 'settled defence' ? We have beaten Bromley and I would say its a case of stating the bleeding obvious to say that conceding last minute winners doesn't bode well. As a blunt supporter myself I would say that Bromley are no more ordinary or better than us or indeed the majority of this league.
The Town Crier
I thought it was an all round under par performance, we didn't take our chances, we leaked three goals at home, we gave the ball away far to often, we were not relentless in what we do, we lacked a sprit/belief that we have previously shown, and at the end of the game a number of our lads felt sorry for themselves. I didn't look like the Billericay I have become accustomed too, but with the flu bug doing the rounds at our place, that may well have had a baring on the performance. I'm expecting a much improved performance starting tomorrow night at Dorchester. COYB!!
blue pilgrim
An interesting range of views, which is what this forum is all about, So, I will be blunt about our 'ordinary' visitors on Saturday. They never stopped running; they passed the ball on the ground; they frequently managed seven passes or more without giving the ball away. Then, having conceded the equaliser on 90m, instead of defending their point in added time, they came forward to gain their winner. If that's ordinary, then I long for the day when Town are ordinary. Our visitor's win wasn't all about us being poor.

I wound disagree with some but we wouldn't have scored our equaliser if we had laid down and given up... That they came at us for the last two speaks volumes about them as well as us... I think TC's view was a better balanced one. And if we come out and make a point then lets hope it's three!!! But it isn't about doing it for one game... We have to do it for now until the end of the season.
