dflman
Is a privilege - good 2-1 victory but was it really 3-1 lino ? Great game by the new man Georgie Purcell who took his goal really well but m.o.m today for me was Tommy Murphy - well done everybody in what could only be described as jolly cold condiitons. Well done too to Ivesy as the pitched was totally different to what we have become accustomed to

Tesco Bazza
Great victory and looks as if we might have found the goalscorer we have been crying out for.
Coffin Ender
Deserved win. Not hugely impressed with H&R. Elsewhere Concord v Thurrock was abandoned due to a very bad sounding leg break to one of Concord's players. Reserves match at Maidstone called off which is more than a little ironic. michael
As above-good game-although always easier to post that after a win. Credit all round, and to win deservedly with what was a bit of a patched up side-even more commendable. Agree that H and R were nowhere nesr the same side when weplayed them away and probably did not deserve to win that game. Defence all played well-cliched term-but played well as a 'unit' I thought bodkin and stubbs worked their socks off and were outstanding in midfield -and showed great fitness by keeping going to the end, after working hard and well together-joint m-of m in my opinion, but would agree as above that murphy also had a very good game. A long time since i've seen a team play what was vitually a 4-2-4 -and at end of game had all 6 strikers on-even if dolby was at left back ! Purcell took his goal really well-very easy to mess up on a one on one. Thought campbell played very well, calm and assured and linked up really well with murphy. After a string of losses-would happily have taken a draw-and to get the win was imo a bonus. well deserved-had most of the play and looked in control ,excepting last 20 minutes of first half when we stopped closing them down . even more impressive to get the win after H and R equalised-heads did not drop, great run and cross from murphy-very well finished by rhodes. Perhaps more noticeable than anything was that Margate were definately the fitter side-again-players/coaches deserve credit for that. first time i have seen the team play under holloways leadership-and agree a bit more football was played- we seemed able to put three passes together-whereas before it was only two-that alone gives you more possession and relieves a bit of pressure on defence. also noticeable that holloway threw the ball ot most of time to start the attack-and credit again to campbell for making himself available for the intital pass from holloway-and starting most attacks constructively. hope we can keep campbell a bit longer. When will Brown be fit-think he touched the ball 3 times at the end-but all very simple/precise passes -and looked a bit of class in his 5 minute cameo-calmed things down and helped keep possession. A good day at the office all around i thought (and pitch was much better condition than i expected-long term i imagined the verti-drain would improve things, but though short term-we would lose a bit of grass and end up with a well drained but very brown surface-seems to have got the former-but also kept a fair amount of grass on it-looked good i thought.)
