The Onion Bag

I'm not sure onion maybe its just our un welcoming nature to saddos who turn up at the ground 3 hours before kick off and expect to be treated like royalty. For someone who disliked margate why do you care what we do.

Correct. I believe the club made an attempt to contact him and Mark Sandwell invited him to a game after his bizarre hissy fit. He obviously lacks the character to accept these gestures. Let him rot in his cum dungeon.

No need to panic, just enjoy the football without getting a stiff neck. When Avery is fit see the difference. More in mid-field and one up front. We will end up higher than we have for years. If we do go up it will cost, so are we better off where we are ? I.M.O for what its worth a good season winning games in this league is better than a bad season in a higher league losing games, and the attendances will be better. So lets wait until the club is ready on and off the pitch. If promotion comes it comes if it dos'nt its not the end of the world.

Didn't Dolby start against Wealdstone though? Cant comment on his performance as missed that game but believe he was subbed early.

Sorry Alan have been real busy lately and this is the first time I have had the chance to reply.

Yes,I am fully aware that Dolby got a start in the Wealdstone game but we have had 25 league games now and that was his first full league start for the team in all those 25 games and even then he still didnt get the full 90 minurtes so up to this point in the season he has not completed one full league game. Now is the time to persist with him, allow him another start, not once again drop him to the bench.Give him 2 or 3 full games and I believe we will see him in A1 condition and amazing us all. To keep sodding about with him does no-one any good, especially the player.

This remark also applies to others who may get on as sub,who do very well, only to be dropped again having been given a full match start and then not doing so good.Yes, I'm talking of Rhodes.Give him, give both of them a decent run over 90 minutes and they will come good,(if not discarded after one mediocre performance).

Persist with these two players and others too, similarly to those who have been granted a good run and who havent been on good form despite having that priviledge.Germaine Brown, who we signed recently might be worth a go with also. Experienced and skillful and, who knows, might be fit enough to do himself and the team justice given a call up.

Those that I have mentioned who ARE getting a good run,(extremely fortunate to be might I add) and who both havent scored a league goal for 10 or more league games and who have been given chance, more than one,to shine and score goals need to be replaced by players who deserve the same regular football, without being substituted,to get to full fitness and to truly show their worth.Players with a little more skill on the ball and who are more than capable of scoring goals on a regular basis themselves. Its a squad game after all and the full squad should be used if needed and by gum I think we need a change right now.I mentioned in another thread a while ago that Sam Long was on his way back and we all know what he can do but to put him back on the bench also, whilst he is approaching his true form of old is unbelievable. If there are any niggling injuries that I am not aware of that would account for this then I would accept this but if not play him!.Lets not check him in his stride!

In the Wealdstone game I was informed from someone there at the game that Dolby did good so he was probably not replaced because of his form being under par so much as it was his first full league game this season and it was probably in the managers mind to ease him in rather than allow him the full 90 minutes out there.(My opinion again)

I woudnt expect too much in any players first couple of games but I would expect a vast improvement from thereon.

In answer to a previous post,no I didnt get to the away games and normally without feed back or seeing things first hand,no I wouldnt have the right to comment but I do get reports back to me from someone at the games with their opinions as to who did good who did bad.Couple that with match reports then yes I think am entitled to give an opinion based on that feed back even though I was not present at the games. In two other home games I have witnessed, one was the Whitehawk game where EVERY player did good but not so good in the next. But its not just about ones form over the past 6 or 7 games its about overall form over the season too.The stats are there too for all to see too. They don't lie!

I never questioned the fitness levels of the players in any post I made apart from saying that more games under their belts will improve certain players games.

Finally what I post are my opinions only thats all.I do not profess to being spot on with my opinions and having the solution to our problems but I do have a right to an opinion and thats how I see things and how I would go forward from here on.

Right or wrong they are my beliefs and because they are my beliefs I'm going to believe that I have it right.

I could of course be wrong, there is always that possibility(some might say a probability) but we need points on the board right now if we are going to be in with a chance of promotion (I havent given up on that even though others might be content to just survive in this league) and any change won't make things any worse than they are right now.We need to get back to winning ways not sooner rather than later but immediately.

Of course the same team selections from hereon could turn things round still, without the need for replacements but thats looking unlikely even though its a possibility. Its not a gamble I would make and we all know I hate gambling! ;)

Thank you. Some explanation then if true and judging by the news today could well have been.

Mixed feelings about him leaving. Was a very good attacking player and am sad to see him depart but Purcell has a good record so hopefully he will take over where Long left off.....But does he still have it in him to do

that ?
