Capital League - Hornchurch 2 Gravesend 1

On a miserable, wet evening we completed a Capital League double over Gravesend by winning 2-1 at the Stadium.

As in the away game we were 1-0 down and won with two goals from one player, but the line-up had an odd look about it with Vinne John playing central defender and next to him Sean Hankin. Our first half performance was perhaps a little disjointed and Gravesend went in 1-0 up at the interval through a goal from Francis Kumbur.

Our second half performance was much improved and Lloyd Opara levelled the scores just after the hour, racing clear from a flicked on goal kick and putting the ball past Alex O'Reilly in the Gravesend goal from 18 yards. The winner came with 10 minutes to go and it was Opara who again got clear from a Bradley Allen pass, beat the goalkeeper who was out of his area and side-footed home.

Line-up:- Collier, Gooding, Williams (Maritu 45), John, Hankin (Fields 60), Rowland, Bradley, Ada, Opara, Allen, Maynard. Subs not used:- A Martin, Wray (GK)

Purely from my point of view

Vinny played CB, I understand, he is suspended from Saturday's game, he played very well

Certainly Sean played the first half and looked solid

If you wanna see these guys, then you have to attend

I will add, attendance is now free for all Capital League Games
