JJ was a good skipper GF because he is unselfish and was a great team player he loved a bit of confrontation with the man in the middle but always respected thier opinions if not thier decisions

Never seen a captain win a game on his own, stupid thread for self gratification IMO, I worry about this lad, it's not healthy to love your yourself like this, he will go blind if he continues.

I'm not captain anymore but still try to do my bit as a leader when playing. Our ref last night was a complete tool. Burnham scored their 1st goal which we claimed to be offside which was not given. I asked the lino politely who had played the striker onside but before I could get an answer, the ref stuck his two pennies worth in, saying he would book me if I persisted. All I wanted to know was which of my defenders had not held the line properly so I could rectify the problem! He was very inconsistent and regularly siding with the home team. He reckoned he had good banter until I told one of my players to stop moaning at the ref as they were wasting their breath - then he booked me!!! At the final whistle I childishly shook both linesman hands but blanked the ref to which he replied "You're a big man aren't ya". He was a complete tool and I lost all respect for him. I never once shouted at him, or was disrespectful, but I couldn't let him have the last word!

Its very difficult to say that a skipper has to be saint like when the ref is a tool I think every game is different and can throw up all sorts of situations,and Newby my white trainers didn't get a speck of dirt on them because i glide over the surface ha ha ha

johnno i to have done what you did an not shook the man in the middles hand for the same reasons at the time the refs ego was bigger than any player on the day . what gets me is when they say approach an i dont shout an holla at refs an they just sack you off so frustrating .
