Uxbridge game abandoned

Couldn't get to Croydon v Windsor so went to Uxbridge v Aylesbury.

5 minutes in Chris Owens went into 50/50 challenge and came out with a broken leg / ankle (?). Obviously in extreme pain.

Took 25 mins for ambulance then another 10 mins for morphine. When they tried moving him he was screaming in pain (I can still hear it in my head.) Poor chap. Really quite disturbing. Young lino was visibly upset at the distress Owens was in when they were moving him and the ref immediately sent him to the showers and announced he was calling the game off. That was at 4.02pm.

Good player for us (Windsor) a couple of years ago. I wish him well.

Although the Aylesbury player was sent off (almost as an afterthought) the Uxbridge fans and players seemed to agree it was 50/50 and no blame attached.

It will be interesting to see what position the league take on the Royston game The Rugby team ( who were winning) wanted to continue the game as did the officials but the Royston manager claimed his team was too traumatised by the injury to continue and refused to play on

Traumatised because they were 1-0 down perhaps?

Don't know for sure but I would imagine it's down to the Officials if the game goes ahead or is abandoned.

3 points to Rugby.
