I'm just baffled as to why we are all now talking about the play offs when we should be winning this league, it's the poorest standard since Bateman took over and we have the best squad of players at our disposal out of all the other teams...

We were stronger last season without a doubt, god we are missing Paul Coyne!

CR, we are all talking about the play-offs because I'm afraid that is our only realistic chance of getting promoted this season.

Just to get into the play-offs is beginning to look like a monumental task in itself.

Very disappointing to drop points at home to Chalfont, a side we should be looking to beat comfortably if we any aspirations of promotion this year.

I was frustrated as anyone on Saturday but I don’t think it’s particularly helpful to get on the back of individual players. I don’t think anyone covered themselves in glory in that second half. Let’s not forget that some calling for Swifty to come back in the side (something I completely agree with by the way) wanted him out of the side last year! Football is fickle and form can turn around quickly so let’s get behind whoever SB selects to play, whether we agree with his selection or not. Rightly or wrongly we have bought some players in at a time where we have not had much game time to settle players in.

Having said that I do have some concerns about us going forward –

Balance of the squad. We had 3 left sided midfielders on the bench and yet chose to select a right footed player out of position there. We are not Barcelona so can we not just field an 11 playing in their natural positions? I’d personally like to see Kyle Anthony stay in midfield after a very promising first half there so maybe time to ship one of these players out and bring in a quality replacement for NBH? Our defence has looked pretty shaky since his departure.

Lack of ideas from the bench when we went a goal down was worrying and the fact we only made one change was totally baffling.

I think Ryan O’Toole will be a big asset if we can get him match fit. He’s probably not played much at Hemel, got a bad injury and not getting much game time at Slough as Burnell and Smith are rightly first choice. This brings me back to a point I made a few weeks ago as to why we aren’t using the reserves to get guys like him up to somewhere neat match fitness. People are calling for Logie to play but when was the last time he got through 90 minutes? For me the reserves is a complete waste of time if we are not using it to keep players not getting regular football ticking over.

I know the cup run and postponements haven’t helped us but they do not excuse performances like Saturday and home and away against Uxbridge. Players need to show a lot more fight against these teams. A squad like ours should be up there fighting for the title, not looking to scrape the play offs. There are plenty of points still to play for but we really have to roll our sleeves up and starting putting some of these teams to the sword, starting tomorrow night. COYR!

Hopefully it will work in our favour though.

I think the team we need to chase is Royston who we have many games in hand over.

My team tomorrow assuming warro is in available would be.

Jacko

Fraser brown Woozley Rhone

Parsons burgess d deeney swift

Burnell smith

7 games in hand on Royston but 5 wins behind them.

It wasn't a pop at anyone on here RR, just cannot believe how we've managed to get ourselves into this situation. We should be well in the title winning mixer by now not in 9th place, yes we have games in hand but I'd rather have the points!

Embarrassing. Unfortunately there is no other word for it. Feel sorry for those players who put in 100% week in week out. Even more so for the likes of swifty and Dom who are forced to sit on the bench for 90 minutes and watch players no where near as good as them put in no effort whatsoever. I don't think I'm the only one who thinks the Windsor influx halfway through this season has had an effect. Parsons, having started well, has turned into a headless chicken who constantly runs down blind alleys, doesn't know how to pass a ball and, worst of all, shows no effort at all, the prime example being today with 10 minutes to go when he lost the ball and then couldn't be arsed to run the 5 yards to the defender and try and win the ball back. On Tuesday I would like to see swift, Rhone and even logie all start, martin too if fit and for someone to put in an emergency call to a certain mr sonner as we desperately need an injection of passion into this team. It's bad enough playing 2+ games every week without then all effectively becoming dead rubbers. Oh well, at least we have the prestigious league cup to put our all into!!!

I do agree regarding the ex Windsor players. They have mainly been used to playing the last year at combined counties level so adjusting could not have been easy especially considering we have so many of them. Also O'Toole has only really been a prolific goalscorer at that level as he hardly scores many when playing a higher level. Combined counties football is park football so I do find it strange why we have brought in so many. Really we wanted 2 or 3 players from a higher level to consolidate a promotion push not half of park side coming in.

Dear football fans,

I'm working on a show for Channel 4 about obsession and excessive behaviours.

We are looking for non league football fans who travel the country supporting their team. We want to know what motivates you? Why you prefer the grassroots to the glory of supporting a premiership side? How it affects your life and those closest to you?

We'd absolutely love to hear your story. If you're interested then please get in touch - alextenenbaum@me.com or victoriaharris@splashmediatv.co.uk

Many thanks,

Alex

the problem with batesy i think is that he wants to be matey with all the players, that cannot happen there has to be a definate division. the fact that during the chalfont match that he seemed not to see the need to change his tactics was imo almost criminal. i made two observations about the player choice before the match started, on who i thought were our weak players in the team and it proved i'll not name them , but any one who was watching should have spotted them with ease.the outrite title is not beyond us mathematically, but practically i think we are destined to be in this division for at least another season, i hope not, i hope we become the carol vorderman team of this division, but a lot more effort has got to be put in by all concerned that includes management, players and fans (where was the singing barmy army?) it all counts you now 12th player and all that.

CCL = Park Football eh? :D

I spoke to a (sensible) Slough Town supporter at a recent Windsor game and asked how the ex-Windsor players were settling in.

He said Parsons and Anthony looked class - O'Toole and Chandiram too early to say. (Interesting to note that both of them scored for Windsor FC in that friendly 2 seasons ago. Only a friendly but hotly contested - the park football team outclassed its blue-blood rivals that day IIRC.)

(O'Toole scored plenty for Uxbridge and Burnham in the past at your level. He doesn't take a lot of getting fit - he'll be knocking them in for you soon enough.)

I've been very impressed with both Anthony and Parsons and I think they will get even better with time.

Anthony been MOTM the last two games with two impressive performances. He could easily have scored a hat-trick last night.
