I think the incident when he got stick for not closing down the defender was frustration at the team. He was our most threatening player first half. But just lacked the final end product.

Sorry but we will have to agree to disagree. There is a difference between putting in effort and enjoying running with the ball. Watch parsons next time he plays. If he has the ball he runs and runs and runs but as soon as he loses it he stops and gives up. We all saw it behind the goal today right in front of us. And it's all very well being able to run with the ball but how much end product was there. Again watch him next match and tell me how many chances he creates. On the flip side burgess, who I presume is the left midfielder bring criticised worked tirelessly for the full 90 whilst being played out of position but never stopped running. I can't disagree about murphy at left back though who unfortunately has had a poor season. I do like fraser but ashley is playing well atm and probably doesnt deserve dropped at this moment in time. For me on Tuesday it should be

Jacko (presuming Warro is again unavailable)

Anthony Brown wooz

A Deeney d Deeney burgess swift Rhone (if Martin is available then I guess one of burgess or swift misses out)

Burnell smith (unless we can get sonner back)

Yes Radders, we'll have to agree to disagree.

Personally, I really don't like to mention names but if the game is to be discussed it's virtually impossible not to.

Agree that Danny Murphy is having a poor season and no idea how he remains in the side and IMO must be replaced by Rhone.

IMO Burgess was totally ineffective from start to finish. He might have done a lot of running but actually contributed nothing.

Your right Jake Parsons didn't create anything but neither did any other midfielder that's why I think it's probably unfair to single out Parsons who at least takes players on and try's to create something.

Time to weigh in. IMHO Dave deeney was by far our best player today. I thought burgess was ok and would have been my 2nd (from midfield) parsons was not awful today (I can think of 3 instantly who had worse days) but if you compare him to Sinclair (first 2 seasons) sinks usually got the pass/ cross away. Today jake seemed to get caught in possession a lot. I don't agree with putting individual names on here and think Radders should know better! Although Radders has picked the same Tuesday team as myself.... Think some players need a rest and some others need some competition. If I was Stuart swift right now I'd be wondering what id done wrong. We ALMOST ALWAYS are better when he's in the team... He's really impressed me this season.

On the positive side, first half I thought Kyle Anthony was our best player.

Thought Dave Deeney was certainly one our better players today but a Tad worrying if Deeney and Burgess were two of our better players because as far as I can remember I don't think we created one really good chance for the whole of the 90 minutes.

I thought there was a purge a few weeks ago to bring in better quality players or was it the other way around.

The one real quality player we had in Sonner who would give his all, is now giving his all for another team.

And not to bring on Swift who can change a game was a disgrace.

Does Bateman know that the rules have changed where 3 subs can be used, bet he wishes he was managing decades ago when you only pick from 12 players.

At the end of the day Kirby I don't like naming players or singling then out but as Martin said earlier the frustration sometimes gets the better of all of us. I can remember many times at the start of the season when I bemoaned the fact that he who shall not be named ;) was unavailable for the fa cup. I just feel he appears to have become a bit of a one trick pony and possibly needs a break from the team to show his position isn't assured. It worked for burnell last season. The same goes for certain others, possibly such as smith. The problem is that due to our apparent lack of squad rotation a lot of our back up players have left the club to find regular football due to having very little or no look in. This now means that our squad suddenly appears to be lacking in quality depth. Take the 16 today plus Fraser, martin and jacko and that's pretty much it compared to when we had sonner, abbey, Perkins, Nathan and its weaker. The striking department in particular, where o'toole atm is nowhere near as useful as having sonner and abbey say on the bench especially at a time where burnell and smith appear to be struggling. Anyway Tuesdays another day and we shall see what happens then!!! COYR!!!

I think Kyle Anthony showed a lot of promise, seems he could be the box to box midfielder, big and strong and able to go passed people but he faded second half which I assume is due to lack of match fitness. Dave Deeney as ever looks good on the ball and does the simple things well. Burgess worked hard but was played out of position and seemed reluctant to keep the width. Parsons eyes lit up when he saw 4 at left back but whilst regularly beating the man and running at players he seemed to end up in blind alleys. That's what frustrated people behind the goal and when he gave up on one, the player who followed up and won the ball back was left to pop the ball to Jake who was then offside.

The issue for me is that no-one in midfield took control of the game and dictated pace and tempo particularly second half. We need someone on the ball to knock it around, ensure the shape was kept and carve out the chances to win the game. For me the most likely to do that was Swifty sat on the bench.

I just don't see what Fraser (although Ash Deeney did nothing wrong today) and Swift have done to lose their places. For Swift and Rhone today must have been very frustrating. Itching to get on but not given a sniff.

Also if you are only going to have one striker on the bench it is very risky doing like for like subs - how then do you chase the game. On the bench today we had Swift Rhone and Chandiram. All of whom can play left back or left midfield (with Swifty capable of playing centre midfield). That to me is not the sign of a balanced squad.

Firstly lets start by congratulating Chalfont today, the 1st half we should have been 2 or 3 up but at halftime they changed and stopped us playing through the middle. They realised if the stopped Deeney and Anthony there was no width in the Slough side, especially down the left. Chalfont raised their game against us , as do many teams but we need to do the same against so-called lesser teams. We need to find why this is , is it down to players, manager or even us fans. As for players and unused subs I think it's unfair to name them but seems to be a reason why some aren't being picked unknown to us. Anyway roll on Tuesday COYR

Couldn't make yesterday's game which I'm now glad of ! Do think people are being harsh on Jake Parsons and Ed Smith and to a lesser extent Danny Murphy. All three are quality players and could get in any team in this division and plenty above.Danny is having a poor run of form of late but that doesn't make him a bad player.

What I don't understand is, why given the size and quality of our squad, Steve Bateman doesn't apply a two game notion,in that if you play badly in two consistent games, then you're automatically dropped, thus giving someone else a chance and thus keeping the players on their toes.

Given the players at our disposal, the manager has to get some criticism because I believe he has wasted many of the talents we've had over the years, especially by not getting the best out of their strengths ie Adam Logie-excellent striker of the ball, good at getting in the box and knows where the net is, Dominic Rhone who's height and speed are always under used, Stuart Swift who is far better in the centre of midfield and creates a lot of chances and should have more shots from open play than he ever does, Sean Fraser who's energy and work rate in closing players down is not been utilised enough and list goes on......

We've let players go who have been at Slough for awhile, ie Steve Perkins,Sean Sonner,Ben Abbey,Steve Sinclair, who have had a good affinity with the club and bought in players who are new to it. I don't blame Steve Bateman for getting younger, fitter players in but the timing of the signings isn't the best and should all four -Parsons,Anthony,O'Toole,Chandiram get in the team automatically, in preference to the longer serving players, without some acclimatization period.

In my view, they should have had a harder job to get into the team than just walk straight into it.No wonder we don't get the best from many of our squad.

If you have a squad as large as Slough have, you must have competition for places.

As for substitions, Steve Bateman has been extremely poor in relation to this, for as long as he's been at Slough. I should think players dread being on his subs bench!

Losing NBH is a major blow to our chances of getting promotion this season and thus has upset the apple cart somewhat.Conceding goals is going to be a big problem now but given the players we have surely an attacking game is our best form of defence. We should be peppering shots and crosses at teams like Chalfont St Peter's goal, for longer than one half.

A poor day at the office yesterday but we can still turn it around.

I don't think any of them are bad players. My point, I think, is the same as yours 3spirit, that with our squad players who under perform don't need to walk straight into the team for the next game. The issue now is that while we have plenty of players who could replace murphy and/or parsons, there is virtually no cover for the striking positions as o'toole currently seems so far of the pace!!!

Radders, we don't have to play a foward upfront always. We have plenty of potential goalscorers in our squad ie Rhone, Logie, Burgess,

Parsons, Anthony, Swift to name six.

Unfortunately, our manager airs on caution and is too conservative in his approach, to get the best out of the players he has at his disposal. His lack of adventure and textbook tactics often let's down our potency.

Don't like saying this,as believe it or not,I like Steve Bateman but this is the facts,I'm afraid.

Very true 3spirit. We do have other options and could try a change of formation. I do feel at the moment though that losing Sean and Ben could be our biggest loss of the season. And that comes back to your point as well as they left due to having literally no game time!!!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I've never felt comfortable with us playing 4-4-2 during the Bateman era, we have looked our best playing 3-5-2... I struggle to understand why we change formation just because we lose 1 player, yes ok, NBH is a very good player but we have enough cover... Tuesday, get back to basics and stick with the same 11 until someone warrants leaving out...

Warrington

Brown D.Deeney Woozley

Fraser Anthony Logie Swift Rhone

Smith Burnell

if we have 3 at the back of course Anthony would be the extra one over D. Deeney.

all season the most productive midfield performance come when Swift and D.Deeney are playing alongside each other. Martin if we can get fit and keep him would be my 3rd central player majority of the games

i like Murphy but cannot for the life of me see how he has started the last 3 games when we have options on the bench
