Embarrassing. Unfortunately there is no other word for it. Feel sorry for those players who put in 100% week in week out. Even more so for the likes of swifty and Dom who are forced to sit on the bench for 90 minutes and watch players no where near as good as them put in no effort whatsoever. I don't think I'm the only one who thinks the Windsor influx halfway through this season has had an effect. Parsons, having started well, has turned into a headless chicken who constantly runs down blind alleys, doesn't know how to pass a ball and, worst of all, shows no effort at all, the prime example being today with 10 minutes to go when he lost the ball and then couldn't be arsed to run the 5 yards to the defender and try and win the ball back. On Tuesday I would like to see swift, Rhone and even logie all start, martin too if fit and for someone to put in an emergency call to a certain mr sonner as we desperately need an injection of passion into this team. It's bad enough playing 2+ games every week without then all effectively becoming dead rubbers. Oh well, at least we have the prestigious league cup to put our all into!!!

Totally agree with Radders, Bateman had the chances to bring on subs and only did a straight swoop of strikers - nothing to change the game.

No chance of winning the leauge and now even the play offs look an outside chance.

Is it to early to start looking at changing the manager as the current one looks like he has failed yet again? how many chances does Bateman need?

Steve Easterbrook must be questioning why he gave Bateman the extra money from the FA Cup run to bolster the team if this is the outcome.

I agree that today's result was embarrassing.

I do not get why we brought o'toole on so early when he clearly wasn't fit. He was terrible in my opinion. We stood a much better chance of scoring with smith on the field.

Although I agree that parsons ran into blind alleys at times he also looked our most threatening player going forward. What the hell has chandhiram done wrong?

Also, in a game like today it was likely that one goal would win it and in such a tight game it is likely to come from a set piece so we kept our best set piece taker on the bench. Baffles me

How depressing was that ??? After the first 45 minutes this game was there for the taking !!!

I don't know what Chalfont's budget is but it is probably miniscule compared to ours. YET they can still assemble a team that can nick all THREE points from us.

I really need to hear some positive news about moving to our new ground to cheer me up because it's pretty certain we have precious little else to look forward to.

Well I think I made my views clear at the game.

Steve Bateman has done an excellent job but throughout his tenure there has been a lack of willingness to use his squad and most crucially make changes during the game. Playing catch up as we are we have to win virtually every game. So even at nil nil we need to make changes. Why didn't we go 4-3-3? It worked well against Guildford. But instead all we get is a like for like sub and the other four just sit there. Bizarre.

Slough ought to see if Terry Brown was interested in managing them-its our only hope.

I would agree with Mark 44's point with regard to Joe Chandhiram but would also ask the same question about Sean Fraser.

I would not question the teams efforts today but I think it is now patently obvious that we do not have the quality to win this league.

It does not really matter how BIG your squad is at the end of the day QUALITY is always better than QUANTITY.

I'm so glad our chairman has such a pleasant disposition in the way he handles the never ending ground negotiations PLUS throwing away various amounts of money trying to improve the team. If it was me I think I would have shot myself by now.

I wasn't at the game, but would like to add that I'm a little tired of us being unable to beat teams like the mighty Chalfont!

We are far too prone to performances (judging by the comments) and more importantly, results like these against sides whom on paper we really ought to be comfortably beating!

Echo all the above. We could all see if nothing was going to be changed we would probably lose and 1 straight swap sub later 1-0! Chalfont weathered up first half and nicked it second it's all a hardworking team need to do to beat us. There is no plan b whatsoever.... Even when a change is obvious! 1 sub?!?! Swifty seems to be this seasons Alex brown ( play really well first half of season and then be dropped for some mysterious reason) and last season I think the brown decision cost us dear. Rhone and swifty should have been on by ht at the latest. Gutted. Chalfont deserved the win but someone like st Neots last season or Hitchin 3 yrs before would have battered them today..

The thing is first half we were on top had chances and forced the keeper into a number of saves. Didn't take any and then seemed to run out of ideas second half. First half was good entertaining football. Second half defeat became increasingly more inevitable as they realised it was there for the taking

chalfont were not a particularly skillful side, but thay were well organised, hard working with some idea of what they were trying to do. Thats all it took once the first half was over as we don't play well for 90 minutes.

We all have different views on whats going wrong, but I'd start with Fraser and Rhone whenever possible. They are both good players who bring energy to the team, score the occaisional goal, and can frequently put in a good cross, a lot more than can be said of their replacements.

The league is a long way from over, however automatic promotion now looks unlikely. The play offs are still attainable if we sort ourselves out. Whether we do so remains to be seen.

To say I'm pissed off after today's defeat is putting it mildly.

First half was reasonable but we couldn't hit a barn door with the chances that came our way.

Second half started poorly and gradually got worse as the half wore on.

I can accept the team/players having off days but what I cannot accept is the lack of or non usage of the subs bench when there were players out there who were poor from start to finish and especially when we were losing and it was patently obvious that to get back into the game something had to change.

We had a couple of players, notably IMO down our left hand side, that had pretty poor games from start to finish and IMO should have been replaced early in the second half by say Rhone and Swift, two left sided players.

FFS Chalfont used all their subs and they were winning!

I personally think it's a bit unfair to pick on Jake Parsons because IMO at least he did put the effort in to take on and beat players, it didn't always come off but he did try. I certainly think there were worse performances out there.

My two changes would be Rhone as left wing back and Swift left midfield.

way OTT with the singling out of Parsons. hope he realises its not everyone who had it in for him.

do really worry about how little we are utilising the squad despite Bateman saying he will be doing so to get through all these remaining games

at least he was bold enough to make an early change for once. it backfired as O'Toole looked to be struggling fitness wise and it was as if Bateman was scared to roll the dice again for some reason. really thought we should have chucked O'Toole up front with Smith and Burnell and dropped Anthony into defensive 3 with either Murphy or Ash Deeney coming off. cannot imagine how frustrated Ed Smith must have been along with Chandiram Logie Swift Rhone who just sat there

also feel really sorry for Fraser who despite being one of the best players this season now finds himself not even getting on the bench even though he claims he isn't injured

my biggest worry recently is the amount of chances we are missing. hatfuls early on today (although from about 30 mins on we barely created a thing for some reason) as with Uxbridge at home. even at Guildford we could have been more clinical and grabbed the win in a 2nd half we dominated
