But did the team play with commitment tonight?

Damn. At least it gets a tricky midweek away game out of the way - and Reiss is back.

I had a feeling that we might struggle tonight, that's why I didn't make a prediction.

Midweek away games and AFCH don't mix unfortunately - that's what cost us the title last season and it's costing us this.

Not looking good at the moment but there's still games to go.

On another night we might have got something out of that .. poor first half (from both sides) ending with another penalty for hand ball. Virtually the last kick of the half.

Second half was better. Tonbridge were a lot happier trying to get the second than holding on to their lead which made it a lot more open and we had a couple of decent chances - Smith from a corner, Gray scooped one over as did Mckenzie and Coyne flashed a header just wide. Add to that a couple in the first half (Mckenzie and Spencer) and that about sums up our attempts.

Defensively we looked pretty solid - one good chance for Tonbridge early on but can't remember any clear cut chances after that though there were a couple of goalmouth scrambles and a disallowed goal.

Can't fault the effort but against Staines we need to be quick out the blocks .. and not wait until we're behind before raising our game.

The other results went for us tonight so there's still plenty to play for.
