VPCTFC
I don't think this has been mentioned on here yet - Spelthorne Sports have submitted plans for floodlights and a 100 seater stand. Good luck to them. http://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/s/2129001_football_club_aims_high_with_ground_revamp_plans
Krooner
Ys good luck indeed to them and hopefully the neighbours will be supportive.
Foxy10
Good on Spelthorne. That club has needed the last piece of the jigsaw for a while now. Hopefully they can really kick on from here. Good luck.
BAD GUY
Living local in Staines, I have been to watch Spelthorne on a few occasions, it certainly has enough land thats for sure ! I do stand corrected, but I believe Spelthorne have applied for ligjts before and were refused due to local residents and Heathrow flight path being the reasons. I am sure like Ashford and Bedfont, the flight path should not be an issue ? Its good to see another local club doing good and trying to climb the FA Pyramid. It is a well supported club so fingers crossed, but time is tight. My best wishes go out to Spelly !
Pitbull
Good luck with the Nimbys and Spelthorne council who are far from being supportive towards sport.
bomaya
I see they only have until Feb 28th to get complaints in which might be what gets it through as I can't see the residents agreeing otherwise. Being directly opposite a whole row of houses, it will be a struggle.
NonLeague LedlyKing
We are hopeful this will be passed, but also having been a part of Bedfont Sports during their development there are always a few that oppose for varying reasons, sometimes just to be awkward. From what I understand, we applied for lights some 8 years ago, and got the go ahead/received no opposition, but lack of funding prevented the lights going up. This time however, the funding is in place so fingers crossed no obstacles are met, and the club can progress.

Savagebee
Hope there's 'no-probs' with the local authority and residents !! Bet there is! I live right behind Brentford FC and its great i would much rather have a football ground behind my house than a housing estate.
The Mayor Of Simpleton
Hope there's 'no-probs' with the local authority and residents !! I hope so too. There shouldn't be a problem with lights and noise as Heathrow Airport is nearby.

Krooner
That's a shame...Our consultants are about to put our planning application in for our new ground with Waverley... Good Luck with it. My cricket club are in the process of one at the moment as well. Changing a field that is used for sheep grazing into a cricket pitch to give us 2 grounds. Taking access from one place and putting it in off a main road which makes it better for the cottages that are near the ground so they get less traffic. Yep you have guessed it people from those cottages have objected !!!
