Heard Sav had to start for Eversley today because of no players. True?

No Baker (wedding) and couple of others out but we had 4 subs today so 'no players' is certainly not the case.

We haven't been keeping possession as well as we should and Sav starting was more of a statement to others. He influenced the game today from the first minute as Shify on Fire will no doubt agree.

JDSPFC here is a CTFC supporters perspective on todays game, sadly you obviously turned up thinking this should be a shoo in 3 points, well we have put in a shift and are making some progress after our team was in freefall, yes a few referee decisions went against you but the response from some members of your team was nothing short of disgraceful maybe someone should tell them that haranging the officials at every opportunity does not endear them. The last time I remember seeing a team as beligerant as this was Guildford City when they won the league sadly they are now bottom of the fair play league in Steps 1-4 so maybe thats how you have to behave to get out of this league I sincerley hope not, and if you were honest apart from your keeper who made 3 worldy saves and is a great lad you should have been dead and buried in the first half

Agreed! Eversley controlled the game (apart from the first 3 mins of the second half) we were too slow at shutting down, & just general decision making! Eversley put alot of pressure on us & mistakes cost us goals! It's a shame that we don't learn from previous mistakes!

Sav did pull the strings in midfield & made our younger lads look slow, and even had the cheek to attempt a 50 yard lob which didn't have me too worried.

God knows what the scored would of been if Baker was playing!

Good luck to all at Eversley this season, nice bunch of guys!

Good game between Epsom and Horley today, definately not a 4-1,a great advert for the CCL,both teams giving everything,Horley missed a good chance to get the score to 2-2,then Epsom added two more goals to seal the points

Will be interesting to hear a camberley perspective. Hopefully some one will give an honest opinion of the game.

Havent seen a game like that for a while. Started as early as the 1st minute when a late challenge from a South Park player on a Cmberley player was rightly given by the Asst Ref although one might argue a bit late. But it was a foul. that seem to set off a few of the South Park players. The red card from where I was looked a red. As soon as it happened I said red because it looked an attempted stamp. I was 60 yards away but that was my view. From that point nearly every challenge was punished by a yellow and Camberley got their fair share. Possibly blinkered but as people know I will call it as I see it.

2nd half started with the SP 2 getting booked and I have to be honest and say it was long overdue for him. So onto the 2 biggest decisions for me. Again from about 60 yards away if I were a South Park person I would have been disappointed not to be awarded a penalty for what appeared a clear push on their striker. From there we broke up the other end and this time being a lot closer I though there was clearly a high foot on the South Park 2 which should have been a foul but none given ad we scored. the reaction after that was interesting. The SP keeper was booked for his dissent but that for me was harsh beacuse although he ran to the half way line at no point did he shout or abuse the ref but spoke quietly and asked a question. There were certainly a lot worse then him who got away with a lot worse.

to the game overall I felt we deserved to win as we worked their keeper a lot more and he made 3 decent saves where our keeper didnt make any saves to note as South Park more often than not missed the target.

I have seen the ref have better games but frankly he was harrased and abused from the 1st minute and that never helps matter and as blinkered as I may be I had South Park down for doing a lot more than us and I expected more from them if I am to be honest. I have seen 3 out of the 4 league games we have played against them and in none of the previous games did they behave like they did today. The worse example was the player who was sent off abusing the ref as he came off at half time and donig it in front of kids of 6 and 7. No call for that at all and fair play to the South Park official who got him away from there. He may be looking at a longer ban if the referee reports that.

I am sure I will be shot at by a few but that is my honest opinion of today.

Worcester Park 1-2 South Kilburn.

very enjoyable day with controversial decisions and some decent football.

Good chat with Smudge and the SK manager. Very interesting to hear his perception of the CCL and football in general.

Always enjoy visiting Green Lane.

Firstly Guvnor No1...thanks for the compliment but will not take much of the credit for today's effort that must go to Mr G Marshall & want to Thank him myself, grand job, just a shame most of it to waste.

I seen the pitch in alot worse & still playable, yes it may have cut up, but wouldnt be any worse than last week & with a drier week ahead would have still given me chance to repair the damage........& like you very frustrated as ive got out of the sickbed yesterday to mark it out so that if anywork was need to be done they could just concentrate on it, which Mr Marshall was doing.

Ask South Park what it was like then Hartley Wintney & Colliers Wood, think you'll get the same answer as you've put down today

The only bit thats not right in your statement Guvnor....the Referee.....he an experience referee on the league & the SFA

Does anyone have any idea what training, if any, referees at this level get regarding the fitness or otherwise of a playing surface? I went to Ash United yesterday, and saw a pitch that was perfectly playable. There were rumours that the ref had let slip that he had something better to do than officiate at a football match so was looking for any excuse to call it off. The guys from Ash were livid, which is the word one of them used to describe the reaction of the Egham team. How angry Ash were can be judged from the fact that in the NLP there is, in lieu of a match report, a naming and shaming of referee Marcus Carmichael for being unable to judge when a pitch is fit or not AND a deliberate noting of just how late in the day he made that stupid and unnecessary call - 1.45. Ash used the suddenly spare time to do some training, on the grass behind the bottom goal, which an Ash supporter said is like a bog but, as far as I could see, perfectly acceptable for the home side to play on, right next to a pitch with no game on it. Mr Carmichael has presumably not been involved in games such we older fans recall, on heavy pitches with mud clinging to the boots, or in pouring rain. Had referees used his criteria for playability on our pitch fifteen or so years ago we'd never have got any games on. Now we have the prospect of having to travel to Ash in midweek in March, which in itself is not a problem as far as travelling is concerned, but means that if we progress in the League Cup QFs then we have the semis two days before the Ash game and then another on Saturday. Cheers ref.

Walked onto our pitch yesterday lunchtime big soft in the middle and very muddy but perfectly playable. When i returned back after our match was informed by our reserve team manager that the game very nearly didnt go ahead as the referee wanted to call it off at first but was convinced by both sides to do otherwise. His final words were " Normally i'd call it off but as we've had so many games postponed i'll let it go ahead"

I hope behind closed doors the league / fa offer some guidance to the officials as to what and what isnt an unplayable pitch.

Shows that many postponements are nothing to do with player safety. A pitch is either unsafe or it's not. How many games there are to be played shouldn't affect the ref's thinking at all.

The FA and counties do issue guidance to refs. Most of it seems to be ignored at our level. The worst cases are the ones where an early inspection has passed the pitch as playable but the match ref changes the decision. According to the FA this should only happen if there's been a sudden change in the weather. There was a case recently when Billericay got an official who's on the line in the Premier League to do the early inspection - he said the pitch was ok but the match ref, a couple of tiers below him in the referee's rankings, said it was unfit.

If you look at step 4 and above they don't seem to have the same backlog of fixtures this season. I've long been of the opinion that refs at that level are more inclined to play games than those at our level. Look at December 26th. The CCL Premier had one game played, the Isthmian 1(S) had ten.

Surely in that case then the guidance should be also be shared to the clubs otherwise you'd be getting teams debating the officials decision whether to play/postpone the game. Even then if officials and clubs both get informed of what and what isn't an unplayable pitch then you'd still get players, not party to his guidance, arguing decisions were wrong!! Damned if you do damned if you don't!

Like it or not, football and times have changed over the years. No-one likes seeing a game called off but just because a game was played on a bad pitch 20 years ago doesn't mean that it was right and that it should still be the case in present days. The game of football has evolved a lot more and I for one would much rather see a decent game be played rather than a ball getting stuck in the mud, players unsure on their feet etc.

Referees/Managers/Players/Supporters/ClubOfficials have different opinions and around this level it's all done for the 'love of the game' so just accept decisions that are made and get on with it.........there's certainly more to life than moaning about football!
