MARGATE beat whitehawk.................... :)

The performance was absolutely superb. Everyone put a shift in. First half I thought Whitnell was outstanding, and second half everybody else stepped up to the plate and made Whitehawk look average.

Alex Rhodes scared the life out of them and has surely played his way into this team on the strength of that thirty five minutes.

Three or four great chances went begging, and you started to wonder, but to seal those magical three points was a nice feeling.

The joy of football is that it brings us the unexpected.

First half, we had a decent share of possession but Whitehawk soaked it up and grabbed a goal. In short, it looked like a typical champions-to-be away performance. Half-time, a frustrating defeat against a competent team looked likely.

Second half, we murdered them. First to every ball, it is no exaggeration to say we had 80 per cent of the ball. We should have won 4 or 5-1. Best half I have seen us play since...I don't know.

Thought up to, and just after their goal, we were going to get trounced. Wasn't their number 9 massive!! But credit to the lads they gradually came back into it, and after a period of misplaced passes I thought we were equal to them at the end of the half. I don't know what was in the tea at half time but boy did we come out fighting in the second. We were first to everything and played some wonderful football on the ground. It was great to have put in such a good performance in front of a large crowd, and if that doesn't bring people back through the turnstiles I don't know what will. Credit again to the choir, and what a great celebration when the second goal went in, I haven't seen anything like that at hartsdown for some time. I had to leave at 11.15 today to get there by train due to rail works so made the long trip back even sweeter.

Best game I've seen Rookie play for ages, Tommy W had a very good game, thought Tommy M played well when he came on. Stubbs good game, all the defence great (Sloppy goal again keeper) Marc cornielle was superb. And of course my Love child Bodkin what a player, please sign him and get him for the next two seasons, and to show what a gentleman he is he handed MOM over to Mr Rhodes...What cracking goals, more shoots at goal please....Well done the whole team as I said many many times the team either all play badly or all play magnificently. Saturday was the latter, well done, a good time to go to Lowestoft I think.
