While we're all feeling so giving I've had this brilliant idea about building us a new ground, I'll put the first tenner in, who's with me?!

Interesting thought if you think about 1000 people putting in £100 each =£100,000 might get an interim covered end, if we also build it ourselves under supervision of course. Well the Jehovah Witnesses within two/three days build a complete building...

Thats a nice thought but will it ever happen with the "yawn yawn" new stadium plans still a possibility

Very true Mark.Better still how about we ask them to build it (if ever the go-ahead was forthcoming)

Incidentally, how long is this equipment on hire for Mark? Is this a one off treatment hire or has Graeme got a length of time with this equipment to put matters right.

Shame those areas we are havng problems with are lacking grass but then again thats just cosmetic I suppose or does that in fact have an effect on the outcome.

Just a thought. Would the local golf courses have one if these. If so, could they be approached to lend one and maybe get a free sponsorship board in return. (Margate football club permitting of course).

Will Graham need a large box to get onto the tractor too ;)

Mark, may I say on here a massive thank you for organising this along with Winkles board, plus a thank you to all the supporters who have dug deep, it just shows what a wonderful lot of fans Margate have! :applaus:

Groundstaff confident Guernsey's Footes Lane pitch will recover

The groundsman at Guernsey's Footes Lane stadium is confident the pitch will recover from recent waterlogging.

Shame Moon has brought in specialist equipment from the UK to aerate the pitch to try and help it drain.

Guernsey FC have been forced to call off eight games this season due to the state of the playing surface which they share with the island's rugby team.

"We're thinking positive, it's just about getting rid of the water, but I'm pretty sure this will work," Moon said.

The machine, which has a half-metre long probe, is spiking the surface to try and create drainage between the surface and the drains underneath the field.

"Hopefully we're opening the lateral drains that are here already," Moon told BBC Guernsey.

"It means more water can get down into the drains that are already there.

"We've done a few tests and we've seen the difference that it's doing already.

IS THIS THE SORT OF THING WE ARE LOOKING AT ???

I'll try and answers some of the questions.

The verti draining is something the club would have done normally a couple of times over the winter but due to the bad weather with games called off finances have been affected, we could hire from a golf club but we also have to pay for a tractor driver so they will probable go to someone else who they have dealt with before. Work would take place in a day. Club is looking at a big machine in the summer to fracture the ground. Verti drainer will be hired sometime next week

Once again thanks for all your support.

That isthmathian website is brilliant really stats everywhere.... At this point average margate crowds up 50... Which really is a massive percentage... And league positioning is up to... In terms of 'over past few yers review' on paper anyway the club really has moved on and up. Just imagine what it would be like if w can push for a playoff/ promotion at end of season... Positive positive positive and build build build!!!
