Saturday 9th games

Recommended Posts

Just learnt that for no good reason under God's sun our game at Chessington & Hook has been called off! They played Thursday and unless there has been some kind of deluge hitherto unreported I have to assume that the pitch would be playable now so methinks it is C & H running scared cos they're tired after their exertions on Thursday and we have hit 14 goals in two games and are clearly well on form. [****!!****]ing ludicrous!

This is beyond a joke now, how can we have ANY postponements today??! Absolutely ridiculous. Surely it's about time that the FA introduce pitch maintenance criteria into their ground grading regulations. The quality of the pitch is the most important aspect for a club and that's where the money should therefore be directed, not putting in a stand to seat 100 people when only 20 turn up. Crazy!

Ok guys. The plan is that we leave Bunters at 10.30 tomorrow for Walsall. If their pitch is no good we will divert to Coventry........

Have to agree with the above.

This is not the premier league this is non league football for gods sake they are way to fussy over pitch conditions these days.

It seems that if its been dry in the South of England but there has been rain in Scotland they will still call off games in the South of England ;)

Anyone who saw the pitch after the Epsom game would of told you that your game with Chessington would of been off today, our game on thursday shouldn't even of been played, you've had a right result not going over there today

Confirmed that the FA Vase match Walsall Wood v Hanworth Villa has been postponed yet again, and at the order of the FA, will now take place next Saturday, 16 Feb, but at Hanworth Villa. If it is a draw, any replay will be on Sat 23 Feb.

This means that Hanworth Villa v Badshot Lea on Sat 16 Feb is now OFF and that Egham v Hanworth Villa on Sat 23 Feb could be off if there is a replay, although Hanworth Villa are attempting to agree with Walsall Wood that next Saturday's match should be played to a conclusion.

Should Hanworth win next Saturday, they will play away to Runcorn Town on Sat 23 Feb, which would also necessitate the postponement of the match against Egham.

As far as postponements today (9 Feb) are concerned, the only postponements advised to me as at 12.15 are:

Prem

Chessington & Hook v Egham Town

Div 1

Farleigh Rovers v Cobham

Guernsey's match at Spalding appears to be definitely on, as I spoke to the Spalding Secretary this morning.

As far as re-arranging matches at short notice is concerned (ie less than seven days) it is a matter for agreement between the clubs although we are happy to get them on if there is agreement, but very often there isn't. For example, the Surrey Senior Cup match Molesey v Colliers Wood was called off last Tuesday and attempts were made to get it played on Thursday but Colliers Wood were unable to do so, so it is now next Tuesday, which means that two more league matches have to be postponed. I believe that Epsom and Sandhurst are now talking about playing each other next Tuesday and if agreed between the clubs that's fine, so long as match officials are available at short notice, which I'm sure they will be.
