Steph
Really looking forward to this one as it is at Bromley. Last time I was at Bromley Carl Richards was playing for them and it was, I believe, Wolstenholme in goal. (FJ will surely correct me if I am wrong) For some reason I was close to the half way line in the Bromley half and and there was a free kick just inside the Enfield half. I was in line between the dead ball and the near post and there was a wall lined up of 2-3 players in front of the dead ball. Wolstenholme? lined up the wall but I thought that its position was wrong. I could see the near post and around 3 foot (a metre) between the end of the wall and the near post. This area was unguarded. Carl lined up to take the kick and I thought there is a goal here. And sure enough there was. Carl Richards was probably the most deadly finisher that I ever saw. I can recall in one game calling a referee a cheat when Carl got the ball just inside the opponents half shrugged off a pull back from a defender and was powering down on goal when the ref blew his whistle for a free kick to Enfield. I knew Carl's ability and if he got the ball with a square back line he had the pace and ball control to beat that back line and score on, I would say, 95% of the occasions. I recall he went to Bournemouth and is mentioned in Harry Redknapps autobiography. I saw Carl again in a reserve cup game against Arsenal at Highbury and the manager had placed him in defence, what a waste!

Steph
see http://www.non-leagueclubdirectory.co.uk/index.php/clubs/club-year/bromley-1995-1996 so it obviously wasn't Wolstenholme in goal.
Father Jack
Reckon that was in November 1994 Steph, when Richards and Bobby Dennington scored in a 2-0 win for the home side. Our goalkeeper was Andy Pape

DerekR
From the non-league vidipronter it would seem that the final score was 1-5. Well done the lads!!!!!!
OldTowner
Scott with a great hat-trick, but my MOM was Adam who made 2 and scored 2. If only we had played with conviction at 3-0 up rather than drop back Cray would not of even got the 1. Great boost for the team Well played to all. Steph
There I was talking about Carl Richards and Adam's first goal was right out of Carl's style book. A run from the half way line with the defence chasing to catch up. Then a low shot from the edge of the box. Superb!

Chase Side Towner
Great performance with some great goals, particularly the 3rd one when Gunz never gave up and a superb finish from McGleish. Much tighter at the back with, for example, Tyler dropping back deep and helping out at full back. Midfield put in a great shift to help the defence and cover when required. Only downside was the 8? man wall opening up for the Cray goal! Well done to all players and coaching staff. Two tough home games coming up so let's hope for a similar performance and see what we get out of them.

Tom S
Great performance with some great goals, particularly the 3rd one when Gunz never gave up and a superb finish from McGleish. Full credit to referee Ian Bentley for playing a brilliant advantage when Gunz was fouled but was able to get up and pass to McGleish.

Eastside Urchin
Great result,we tanked them at their place the start of last season but on their day they are a very good side, they beat us at our place later in the season and I thought they were the best team we played, apart from concord who beat us in the cup.Lovely pitch at Bromley
