readingrebel
I'm really excited about the prospect of seeing the Rebels in action tonight! Latest word from Guildford is that 'the pitch is in great condition considering the recent weather'. COYR!!

Nathan
1-1 h/t Nobody's played particularly well, the fans are situated 100 miles from the pitch, and it's damn freezing!
Cookham Rebel
1-1 FT All in all not a bad result away from our adopted home after the lack of game play in recent weeks... So, 15 points off 5th place, 16 points off 1st place with differing numbers of games in hand over the 8 teams above us... Not going to lie, I am worried, 23 games in such a short period of time is a huge effort and could take its toll, time will tell! COYR
Chris
I wasn't at the game tonight, but on paper despite us playing catch-up I also think it's a good point all things considered. Looking at all our games coming-up until late March (23rd when we play Rugby) we enter a period now where our fixtures (apart from Daventry & North Greenford who we have yet to play) are against teams we've played earlier in the season we've all won against in either the league or cup already and not lost or drawn to any of these opponents this season. That's not to say they won't be tough fixtures - they will be as they are all very good teams, but if we want to get promotion over this period we need to put a run together and get back into that chasing pack over these fixtures mentioned above, where hoepfully our experience of last season's run-in when we enter a very tricky last period of the season will give us an advantage over the others. Martin
It was a good point against a side doing well, in really difficult conditions. Thought we looked most threatening when we went three up top in the final minutes. Should we have gambled earlier? Hard to say, got to remember a similar decision backfired vs Rugby. Just glad to have a game!
readingrebel
Guildford had the better of the first half. We gave away a sloppy goal with a free header at the far post. Second half we battered them without creating any real clear cut chances. Thought Brownie was MOTM with Kyle Anthony having a good steady first game for us. Mr Rebel
1st half we definitely struggled to get to grips with the pitch and having not played in so long must have played a factor also we scored a penalty against the run of play and from then started to grow in confidence although never looked totally secure and wasn't too surprised when they equalised 2nd half we were by far the better team with Guildford happy to lump the ball forward and hope to catch us out on the break. never quite really had that clear cut chance to win it though with offside flags killing many dangerous looking attacks. only a few half chances that didn't quite test the keeper as much as maybe we could have. Burnell did magnificently to get some space and fire our main chance that the keeper made a decent stop from. almost forced a goal late on in a goalmouth scramble late on but wasn't to be considering we hadn't played recently, the pitch being near impossible to play proper football on and the fact Guildford beat what was top of the league just a few days ago we can't be too disheartened at only drawing although quite a few of our players seemed frustrated at full time that we hadn't got the win which was understandable with the way the 2nd half went
A Rebel and a Saint
I was reasonably pleased with the draw considering how long it has been since we have played. Definitely some work to do but I thought that the second half yesterday showed plenty of promise on what was a really bumpy pitch, unfortunately we just couldn't create that one chance to take the lead as Guildford were nowhere in the second half after being on top in the first half. Hopefully we can use that as a springboard for a bit of winning momentum and close the gap on the playoffs, then who knows what will happen, it is still all to play for is we use the squad in a sensible way. brighton_rebel
If anyone is against 3G pitches, they weren't at yesterdays game! Guildford very well organised at the back tho, a good point, but don't want to hurrying back there anytime soon
Bernie Gogan
Desperate place, an athletics ground first and foremost. My binoculars wouldn't have helped, the game was so far away from the spectators. Were they really chiding us about not having our own ground? Midweek 140 there, not quite their top attendance this season, but close. Guildford hung on for their point, we'll no doubt experience more games like this............ Regan
Were they really chiding us about not having our own ground? I doubt that as we don't have our own ground either. We warned you about Spectrum, and at least you had a nice elevated view of the pitch to compensate for being far away. We're the last people you need to tell how crap our ground is, we suffer it for 50% of the season but it's all we've got.
Bernie Gogan
Fair play, shame you can't get a proper footy ground then, even one that isn't yours. One bonus...GREAT PARKING!
