Final table based on current form

Recommended Posts

My inner anorak is desperate to get out and now there's talk of Egham winning the league so I may as well do this. If current form in the last six league games is continued until the end of the season this will be the final Premier Division table. I might update this each week. I might not.

Epsom & Ewell 104 points

Egham Town 101

Guernsey 91

Raynes Park Vale 85

Windsor 84

Croydon 83

Hanworth Villa 78

South Park 77

Horley Town 72

Cove 66

Badshot Lea 63

Bedfont Sports 53

Molesey 52

Farnham Town 52

Chessington & Hook United 47

Camberley Town 42

Wembley 40

Sandhurst Town 35

Ash United 34

Dorking 34

Colliers Wood United 29

Hartley Wintney 17

well that gives Dorking a fighting chance

to be honest I didnt see why egham would be top when dorking played them away nor epsom at home.

guernsey were a class above, as were hanworth villa against a poor dorking side on the day

sorry to say it was clear hartley witney would struggle on day one

table end of season counts i guess!

So that has Epsom winning their last 17 games.

Guernsey will win the league easy, every team is scared of them and beaten before a ball is kicked

we are not scared of them even though we are near the bottom of this league, there is no big difference between the teams in this league as I have said before apart from 1 or 2 teams it is a poor league this season a bit like when Godalming last won it.

I know you've used form as a guide but it doesn't obviously take into account the teams playing against each other where both obviously can't win so like you say treat it as a time-passing exercise to relieve boredom rather than anything factual !

Spot on. It's nothing to be taken seriously.

Epsom are down to win the remainder of their games as they've won their last nine. I doubt they expect to win every game until the end of the season.

There's a table on the NLM website that shows form in the last six games. That's why I've chosen that amount. Easy to work out.

I fear our lack of a playable ground will in the end defeat us and cost us the chance to win the League.

You do make me chuckle. You make chomping an art form.

I guess I have to ask... Ermm, what have Godalming got to with anything?

hi duncs

I've been in this league for the last 12 seasons and I wouldn't say it's a poor standard compared to when godalming won it

All I know is .. I don't think the promotion/relegation for both divisions will be sorted until the final 2 games of the season. Very tight in both leagues

Speaking of which, have the outstanding games in Division 1 been confirmed yet?

You know what Darryl, I'm beginning to think you are right.

Regardless of what bobuk says here, we had a good look at your squad players last week and we were well on top throughout the game. In my opinion that means that a squad side of yours would definitely struggle home or away against anyone in our top 8, and teams in the top 8 frequently lose to those below them as this league is so competitive so you wouldn't be guaranteed a win at any time when the squad players are used.

I think it's clear that you have the best 12 to 14 players if everyone was available, but you have 26 league games to play starting 12th Feb which gives you ten, maybe eleven weeks to play them. This also assumes you go out of the Vase this week, which I don't think will happen either. If you win Saturday, then two more home games v Epsom and Cove go out of the window. You just can't play your full strength side three times a week, especially as the Vase is now assuming priority, which in all fairness it must when you are so close to some really big matches.

The sheer number of outstanding league matches is beginning to weigh against you, especially if you win at Spalding on Saturday. Good luck with that, by the way.

As for Epsom, we were the better side with a greater cutting edge but we seem to have difficulty getting past teams who play former Epsom keepers against us! Campbell was superb and made four or five really good saves without which we'd have been out of sight. However, midfield was fairly even and you took the two chances you had so I think the signs of survival are bright, despite the frustration of a late goal against you. Teams at the top always seem to nick the matches against the teams at the bottom. It's happened to us often enough in the past.

Russ, you might want to do a table based on points per game coefficient. That might give a better guide, although I will be producing a form table on our website based on the last 9 games, because we haven't done this since 1974 so who knows when / if it will ever happen again!

To be fair, that's not quite what you said to me at half time on Tuesday. ;)

Other people do ppg tables. I like to be different.

Anyway, recent form shows which teams are on the up and/or down - look at Raynes Park Vale and Badshot Lea.

Camberley are just plodding along. We've got 27 points from 27 games and six points from our last six games. We're the most consistent team in this division. PPG doesn't show that!
