This talk of invading Europe is just plain silly, immature tosh, we are part of Europe and they are our allies.

 

We should only invade France.

We are part of the continent of Europe. However, I don;t agree that we should be part of a United States of Europe. The EU should be an equal trading block but nothing more. Political and monetary union would be a very bad thing. Our cultures and working methodologies and ideals are just too different. Would the French give up the subsidies they pay to their farmers. Of course not. If they tried, the farmers would bring France to a standstill. Would the Germsn accept that British ale is the best in the world. Of course not and if their government did coountless Germans would choke to death on their bratwursts.

I'm all for the single currency and a single language for Europe. It should be the Pound Sterling and English.

No, I disagree (although I bet your comment is tongue in cheek). Each nation has it's own culture and identity and should be respected and enjoyed when visiting that country. I just don't want their ideals inflicted on me.

In fact at the risk of being boring/serious, the cultures of Europe are barely different at all, in the grand scheme of things, that is to an anthropologist. There is as much difference in "culture" between regions in the UK than across mainland Europe.
