paokman
After our romantic weekend in Chester, that's why I wasn't at the Tonbridge game, I'm thinking of a couple of nights in Dorchester with Joan, provided she lets me watch the game Saturday afternoon. paokman
Just booked two nights in the Sydney Arms in Dorchester for me and the wife(my wife that is) for £130, getting train down on Friday night 'til Sunday afternoon, first class at £89.80. Only prob is with the train as I can't reserve seats so it'll be a scrum, and coming back it's a bus from Dorchester to Wareham 'cos of engineering work. Guess nothing's perfect. Sydney Arms is about a mile from the ground.
Miss.A.F.C.Hornchurch
Derek, what time train you both getting on the Friday?
paokman
1905 Annie from Waterloo, no seats available on earlier trains. A bit late getting into Dorchester at 2145 and pub stops serving meals at 2100 so guell we'll go for an indian or summat.
Miss.A.F.C.Hornchurch
David and I, are on the 18:05, didnt get an option for a seat reservation so i take it, its first come, first served. Train gets into Weymouth at 21:07. Your right about the pubs, so we will go for Chinese or Indian once checked-in. Like we have done before. By the way, if anyone would like to see the Waterloo to Dorchester / Weymouth timetable i will bring it with me to the game on Saturday so people can take a look, if they are thinking about going down by train. I will put some times on a seperate thread also.

SEVEN TEARS BOY
Just saying that I'll have to be there in time for the City game, doesn't mean everyone else has to (though you'll be well early Annifer )
paokman
Good luck getting a seat Annie, sometimes the platform isn't shown until the last minute then it's a free for all to get onto the train. The quicksct and strongest get a seat. That's why we're getting the later train tho' you can't reserve any seat but first class is pretty cheap and if we can't get a seat there then we shall try for a seat amongst the plebs. Just hope we can book into our pub/hotel as late as that.
Miss.A.F.C.Hornchurch
Should be ok. From past experience, I think you have to get in the first 5 coaches for Weymouth / Dorchester as the train may divide at Southampton. But dont quote me on that.....!! Best if you ring the place where you are staying to give them the heads up that you will be checking in / arriving late. The B&B i chose allowed for check-in up to 23:45. So we will be ok.
