So a decent drying day yesterday and today. Rain overnight but then another decent drying day tomorrow and Sat may see a nearly whole league fixture ?

Thoughts anyone ?

Very unlikely to be any action at Footes Lane this weekend. Guernsey may still have a game though...

I think the League should fast-track your remaining fixtures and those of Windsor so that you can both then offer your facilities for staging GFC outstanding fixtures ;)

Any large amount of rain will get many games get called of again at certain grounds. They seem to flood in the same areas week in week out,and until remedial works are attempted, things will not improve.Anyone tried covering the badly affected areas? This would surely be a start,Footes Lane is a typical example, the pitch looks fine on the web cam pic that HKP posts.Drop of rain it floods.Actually walked on the Sheerwater pitch last Saturday 98% perfect, but 4 areas were like a bog, that will take weeks to dry unless dug up.Looks as though Westfield/Knaphill/South Kilburn have similar problems.

I'm sure our game will be on at home to Dorking.

It won't be warm though as I see a forecast of 3 degrees but with a wind chill to bring it down to minus 3.

Just like old times back at Merland Rise. These days I only need the four layers of clothing :)

On the webcam picture there is an area to the left of the centre-circle that is a different colour, this I believe is the worst area and is very wet. Water table is so high that the water doesn't want to go.

I would guess we will be unlikely to play at Merland Rise this weekend based on the weather (although could be wrong). To be honest, I was wearing four layers at Banstead in August. This time of year I'd advise dressing up as if on an arctic expedition ...

"We hear that efforts are being made to line up an alternative fixture in case of need (ie in the UK)."

Where's that then????

Could be a friendly against PSG as Beckham has hardly had a run out since December either. If that's off then probably recording Splash with Tom Daley at Footes Lane.
