Rhodes,

Imagine for a moment that I am the chairman of a football club, and I've taken you on as manager of the team.

Halfway during the season, I

a) have cash-flow problems with my business and can no longer afford to pump money into the club

OR

B) decide that I want out for whatever reason

You are then left with no money, as I have cut off the funding. Would you think 'sod it, I've had promises broken so I'm off' or 'I'm going to see this through and get a team together for nothing.'

What would your honest answer be?

The Mayor Of Simpleton - Apologies, I didn't have time to answer yesterday, I assume we're talking about Colney Heath rather than a hypothetical question. I guess it depends a lot on the individual and the mentality of the Manager, look what Syd Lexic had to put up with at a certain Club for example yet remained loyal and faithful to them until the bitter end. Nine out of ten people, particularly those involved in football where broken promises are an every day occurence, enjoy a challenge so, as was the case with Syd Lexic, I would soldier on regardless with a stiff upper lip and Dunkirk spirit. An interesting question though!

Another swerve. Too busy not watching any games again yesterday? What in that question says anything about Colney? It was an imagined scenario, yet again something is here and clear for all to see and you assume what you want to see and the rest is the same old meaningless drivel.

What in that question says anything about Colney?

I just assumed The Mayor of Simpleton was referring to Colney Heath's plight that's all, loyalty counts for a lot in football and being able to look yourself in the mirror

Why assume when the question is clear????? I wonder of you are able to look at yourself I'm the mirror after things you have done which a far worse than giving up being an unpaid manager of an amatuer football club?

Rhodes, for clarity's sake, I was not talking about Colney Heath FC. Just a club in general (Anytown FC, if you like).

Like what for example, telling a few home truths which ruffle feathers on a football forum

Truths? Interesting choice of words for a man who is never in possession of the facts, so not truths are they, but you carry on in your own little bubble.

Truths?

Okay, Winslow United taking a thumping, sorry, hiding at Cockfosters earlier in the season, true or false

A post on a forum is not a document just in case anybody needed that clearing up.

Seriously clutching at straws now

So Ampthill Town aren’t Padbury United in disguise then, you could have fooled me!
