Mick Swaysland - aylesbury/tring was also a past time fav of mine

 

Lockey was a quality signing at Sun. The second half of that season we had some good players come in. As well as Darren we signed Tom & Lee Inch both now Oxhey, Spencer Belotti (Nothwood) a 16 year old Lewis Toomey (Kings Langley, Hemel, now St Albans) and there must have been one or 2 more but we just couldn't get a "full " team out every week

 

Others in that team included Stuart Farrell now Uxbridge, Ben Poulton, Oxhey and on his day Darren Lancaster was unplayable (although didn't produce consistently)

Chris Hill is another who was brilliant for us, went on to do well at Ardley and Oxford City and turned down stupid money from Hungerford in his third spell with us. Goal scorer plain and simple. A left midfielder known as 'Porkie' Paul something I think, cane to us from Newport Pagnell in like 2002/3 was first class for a number if seasons consistently beat the full back and put quality crosses in, could and should have played much much higher

Paul Harrington played left mid played in the same team when we won the carlsberg cup at the millennium stadium loved running at defenders good direct player and great team mate.

"Blackie", love it Michael........Jay Blackett, but his nickname is Blackett...close though!He's decent and played for Arlesley a couple of years back until he did his cruciate in, hence playing SSML.

 

Very close indeed, he ran us ragged that day when we lost 4-0. Very good touch, very strong, good movement. Sort of player you want on your team. His partner was alright as well, they worked well together. And the delivery the left back gave them was almost perfect. Loving playing in this league at the moment, a lot better than playing in the Hellenic in my eyes

Sure is!

 

It was the 07/08 season I made my debut at Hanwell vs Sport London E Benfica which broke a run of I think 9 straight deafeats in league and cup. Lockey, the Inch's etc all came in January but (apart from me) it seemed a very young team.

 

The away game at Royston was Paul Attfield's second or third game in charge and they were rock bottom before finishing in the top 6.

 

Lewis Toomey was either playing at left back or left midfield in those days.
