Thanks Southend And A Nightmare Come True!

Just to say "thank you" Southend for in some way 3 seasons ago, the game probably helped us gain belief and win the Trophy.

Let's face it, when that draw came out on Saturday, what Southend supporter thought good draw, even though we are at home. This draw must of been the worst "nightmare come true".

Their players will feel so edgy in front of their own crowd where they can't do the business. What embarrassing headlines are waiting in the wings to push their confidence levels even lower and nearer the abyss!

Yes against a Canvey team full of confidence who are on a long unbeaten run who are scoring a minimum of 4 goals a game. We also have quite a few players who have played at league level who have a point to prove and a few others who could easily play at league level.

The only person pleased with the draw at SOuthen is thier bank manager at least we give them a high crowd.

Don't forget that we actually have nothing to lose in this game except bragging rights.

If we won, we would make shed loads of cash from the attendance, plus prize money and be in the hat for the next round after taking out a team over a whole league above us, who just happen to be our biggest rivals.

If we lost we would make a shed load of cash from the attendance, go back home to concentrate on winning the League, while Southend could face more problems injury wise having to play extra games as they progress in the FA Cup & LDV Vans. They'd have the prize money - I think the need it more than us. Then we would eagerly await Monday's FA Trophy draw and see if we can be in with a realistic chance in winning it again along with the League.

We'd have to put up with the banter from the Shrimper's fans, but like they said - 'sticks and stones'.

Win, lose or draw this will be another epic tie and a great day out for the Yellow Army again!! <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I remember the last FA game at their tip and it was accepted by all parties that the mud pie pitch suited Sarfend better than the footballing side Canvey.

It would appear to be the same this time around I.E. the football will be played by the non-league side

i reckon its gonna be close and a bit naughty as well.. remember we are used to watching ryman fare.. whilst southend may be turning out some dross at home recently i should imagine it is dross played a much faster pace for more of the time by players who are fitter and harder.. i think playing better teams suits canvey at present tho..

currently there is no real way to compare to two teams until sunday week

they should be better than us, simple as that, hopefully we will put on a good show for em and get a result
