dflman
Yesterday the club kindly put up a thank you notice which may have given the impression that the snow clearance was all that is required so not many people turned up today. In fact there is still loads to do regarding the surface preparation and it looks a better chance for Saturday now - if you can please come tomorrow and bring a garden fork. The club will probably confirm on the website later
marksandwell
hows pitch looking? As an after thought, stupid as it might sound....I understand you can't use a sponge roller too often as it churns up the ground. Then is it not possible that if you just get some large sheets of sponge/foam, and laid it over the wetter areas this would in theory suck up the water. It may need carrying over to the side of the pitches and wringing out a few times. Is this sensible or am I missing an important fact...

dflman
Sponge would only soak up the water when some form of pressure is applied surely. Perhaps we could lay it then roll a portly member over it
