Colleagues

Having made a few telephone calls, it would appear that the chances of playing games this Saturday, 26th January, are remote.

Once again, clubs should carry out their own pitch inspections for this Saturday 26th January. Should you be of the opinion that it is not possible to play the game, you must inform myself, the match officials and the away team, that the game is postponed. Do not inform Jim Bean.

Telephone calls and / or emails must be made to me by 5.00 pm, Friday 25th January. If not made by this time, I will consider that you are of the opinion that a game may be played and that you will be requesting an inspection by a referee as detailed on page 12 of this years handbook. Clubs playing in the FA Vase and County Cups must also inform me if the game is called off. I am out from 6.00 pm Friday night and will not be able to take telephone calls or respond to any emails.

With the weather forecast saying that the temperature will rise on Saturday, let’s hope we can get some football in next midweek and a full program on Saturday 2nd February.

Will all clubs please note that there is a possibility that some clubs will be playing two midweek fixtures in March and April. I have to complete the fixtures for the Premier and Division One on the last Saturday in April, hence the advance notice of what might happen.

Observations from when I was travelling into London from Leighton this morning on the train. Berko and Kings Langley pitches are still fully covered in snow and there is only grass starting to appear in fields and gardens around Carpenters Park, so may some hope for the Jets game. Unless clubs are clearing pitches there won't be too much chance if that 3 inches of snow becomes 3 inches of water. Oh and snow / rain forecast from 8pm tonight until 3/4am.

 

For the avoidance of doubt these were not offical pitch inspections ;)
