Eversley blow (or not)

Recommended Posts

Didn't think there was a pitch overlooking the pitch so not sure how much truth there is in this.

There was the usual objections from local residents/nimbys when the planning application was released but permission was granted by the council a number of months back and work is underway I believe. A number of posters and member clubs gave there support to the application when it was open for public comment.

Classic case of sh*t stirring I think. Perhaps if you really are the paperboy for this so called house that apparently over looks the pitch (I've never seen a house anywhere near the ground!!) then you'll be able to tell Daniel the name of this resident?? I understand that work is already underway so can't see there being any truth in these rumours.

I have just spoken to the head of planning at hart dc (a friend of the family) and he has assured me that the period of appeal has passed.

Therefore assuming we meet all the planning conditions, the lights will go up regardless of the neighbour protests.

The football foundation have already approved the release of funds to start the project as well.

Nice rumour though.

I was looking for Eversley's ground on Google Earth, but can't seem to find it. I can see the lake/pond mentioned, but no ground.

If the time for appeal has passed, then the lights will be going up.

Incidentally, what is the situation with Sheerwater who were undergoing a similar consultation? That seems to have gone a wee bit quiet.

The Google Earth image was taken before Eversley moved there in 2009. It used to be a gravel pit. I don't know if the residents used to complain about the lorries going up and down their country lanes. They probably did.

The latest on Sheerwater - http://www.woking.go...ntsinsheerwater

It's not just the football club that's benefitting - the whole area is. We're jealous of clubs who are in Woking Borough Council's area. Woking, Knaphill, Westfield and now Sheerwater have all had great help from the council (it appears to me anyway) but look at Bisley, Chobham and Burymead just over the border in Surrey Heath.

This is the 're-opening' of Burymead's old base in Bisley after the Parish Council basically kicked them out.

Interesting point about Bisley - are they still at Lion Park? If not, who uses it these days?

I know that Football Finder have looked at it as a future base.

When I was at the club (eversley) last Wednesday workmen were there planting about 30 trees down the stand side off the pitch to help keep the effects of the lights down . The pitch and far side barriers were being moved after sats game as far as I am aware. I dont Think we would waste alot of money In these jobs if the lights were not going up. Hopefully the snow has not delayed any work not much .
