Nice bit of spin

I think Maidstone returning home and their new stadium are without a doubt the reason for their increase in attendances. If Margate manage to get this new stadium built, and a promotion, I think attendances will increase. I think that supporters, including myself, have been increasingly frustrated by the situation at Hartsdown Park. On the pitch and commercially the club are in a healthy position compared to 5 or 6 seasons ago however I have personally lost faith that this stadium will be delivered. I know that people's attitudes like mine don't help the club by not attending all the time, but you have to appreciate where we are comong from. People would return to the club and bring new blood with them if HDP was more comfortable (Boxing day's rain being a typical example!) and thats why I think it is so important that this new stadium is delivered to the town.

I've always been for a joint stadium with ramsgate surely this would be an option which is more feasible easier funded with hartsdown and southwood being sold for housing. I guess this is what ramsgate had in mind with southwood when they bid on the pfizer site. and if a 3 or 4g pitch is laid a fantastic asset to the isle of thanet. If the milan clubs can share why couldn't we.

not sure it will be worth it as the cost of running the stadium will double as a result of twice as many games being played and being that both clubs are at different levels with a big difference of average attendances Margate and Ramsgate would be financially better off to merge as one football club, very much like Hayes & Yeading.

The Milan clubs can pull it off because they are both at the same level with a near equal support base, plus it's Italy and therefore by default is beyond corrupt

But do you not think attendance base may increase for both sides with a new ground I'm agaianst merging. But the money generated by use all week could be split down the middle after giving the council their bit this would add to the clubs budget. Thus allowing the clubs to get better players and rise up the league that is if the fa see sense and allow 3g at conference level. Surely its better than all these grand plans, which leave us with 2 pretty much tin pot out dated non league grounds?

I don't think you can be 2 different clubs with different objectives and expect to work in unison under the same roof. Both clubs will be better off spending more money on building a new stadium, which will increase their respective fanbases and therefore maximizing their profits, instead of sharing their profits after paying the council rent and tax. You have to spend money to make money
