FA Vase 5th Rd draw

Recommended Posts

Just home watched Ampthill win comfortably. Really disappointed with Enfield, wingers and forward never showed up ! fair play to Ampthill, decent chance in the next round home draw is key. Just have to mention that none of the players or manager from Enfield bothered to go into the bar after the game. The enfield manager is great at talking about what he has done in the game and what he is going to do but today he showed that he still has a lot to learn about tactics and class the better team won on the day maybe they should have played last week !!!! Paul Lyon mom.

Enfield were truly awful when we played them in the FA Cup first game of the season, was surprised how far in the Vase they'd gone

Why mention it, it's not obligatory for an away Club to go into the bar after a game is it

but it is good manners and the gracious thing to do. The full 22 players buying drinks in the bar can make a big difference to a club. You would expect to observe this etiquette in a prestigious game.

I know he reported a club to the league when he was involved with **FC for not coming in after a game, so hypocrite much? he's just looking for someone to have a go at him as he gets off on it.

I assume you are referring to Gordon Boateng, the same Gordon Boateng who was at Bishops Stortford and Histon

Well done Ampthill - if both clubs got through and you drew Guernsey, you'd be well looked after and would no doubt make a lot of new friends. As someone with a lot of links there, I'm very proud of the way they look after the opposition.

In terms of away travel, they took 500 to the CCL Premier Cup final last year, and there will probably be 150+ travelling to Spalding this week (made up of locals flying across, ex-pats and UK fans - GFC have managed to pick up a few new fans in the UK since they started last year).

Hadleigh aren't the strongest side I've seen at this level but any side who gets this far is there on merit. Good luck anyway!

Attendance was 148

That's poor isn't it for an FA Vase Fourth Round tie

Yes but I wonder how Ampthill would get on arranging their travel to Guernsey and back, Eric Turner would have his work cut out

I think in the event it happens they'll be ok it's hardly Lewis and Clark stuff is it?

Winslow Boy - No, you're right but I remember when they couldn't get over to Norwich United for a pre-season game so Guernsey would be a test of the Club's resolve wouldn't it
