blueblood
The bad weather and sub soil mistakes (compaction/ drainage) in the laying of the pitch prior, to the return to Hartsdown park are causing more and more postponements both, for the 1st team and Reserves. It is surely time to look for an alternative venue, at least for reserve games. Finding a pitch will not be easy, Artificial could be the answer (if the council had given planning consent then we needn't to have looked further than Hartsdown park). The pitch that comes to my mind is the artificial surface at St Lawrence college. In the day's of Mark Weatherly's tenure as reserve manager ( in the period of bad weather that interfered with progress in Trotty's reign)it was used for training on several occasions. St Lawrence is a fantastic facility. Bay point would be another though, I believe the other Thanet team already use it. The University at Tyler hill Canterbury also comes to mind. Any views out there.

Coffin Ender
The forecast for the next few days probably ensures there will be little or no football for another week or so. We may even see a repeat of the 2000/01 season when the Isthmian League finished with some games unplayed. http://www.hendonfc.net/Tables?method=archive&season=2000 Hendon were particularly badly hit. They were even scheduled to play three games on the final day of the season (though in the end only ended up playing one as the last two didn't affect any promotion and relegation issues). Their schedule was: May 3, Gravesend, away May 4, Aldershot, home May 5, Dulwich, away, Harrow, home, Suitton, away.
