Not seen -8 forecasted -- where's that?

According to the Met Office web site though, the MAXIMUM temperature on Saturday will be.... 0 degrees!

I have been appointed to a game tomorrow evening... unless undersoil heating has been installed recently that's not happening either ;)

I've just seen sleet forecast in the Chipstead area for Monday, so it's clearly not going to be quite as cold then. We are due to play on Saturday and Tuesday, but I won't be printing the Saturday programme as I feel there is no chance of it going ahead. Might have an emergency 8 pager ready just in case if I need to create one on the Saturday morning, but I don't think it will be required at the weekend. Tuesday? Maybe!

Let's hope early decisions are made if the weather is as bad as forecast to save all teams from un-neccessaey journeys.

Rye United v Guernsey in the FA Vase

On the Rye United forum they are reporting that an initial pitch inspection will be held on Friday afternoon.

Sense needs to be used here! They should do inspections tomorrow and give a firm yes or no, likely to be no!

Some snow forecast for tomorrow am, but then turning to rain. It is not that often that the snow sticks around for long, often gone by lunchtime. Milder climate etc. I think our pitch may well be playable this weekend!

What a waste

If everybody canx tomorrow wonder if any club would go there short notice?

Its weather like this that makes 3G pitches look appealing! ;)

Except for the fact they also freeze. Plenty of games on 3G have been called off because of being frozen or covered with 10 inches of snow.

I have a game tomorrow which has been switched to a 3G pitch. We have been told that if the tempreture at kick off is below zero then the game will not go ahead. The reason for this is something to do with the 'black bits' in the 3G surface being deemed unsafe!!!

Don't rely on 3G!!!
