AFC WIMBLEDON VS HORLEY TOWN

Look like AFC will be putting out a almost full first team squad for tonights game

Looking foward to my visit

Yeah, sure they are Carthorse.

In between their important battles for League survival I reckon the Surrey Senior Cup is right up there in their priorities.

Carthorse, E&E Fred. Naturally, it would appear that AFC do not take this competition too seriously as they have not advertised the game on their website (as far as I can see, I could be wrong) plus they have far more serious matters such as staying in the football league. Nevertheless, the previous round AFC beat Ashford Middx 1-0 AET and in that game prolific goalscorer Prior who I believed had trails at Newcastle, played his first game after breaking his leg, Cummings, Balkestein, Mitchel-King, Djilali and Herval all had run outs for fitness, the rest were made up of reserves/academy players.

There will be around 6 first teamers but all on the fringes...hardly any start matches, mostly bench warmers. They are playing to get match time.

As Bad Guy stated for the game v Ashford, the rest will be the young development squad.

We hope to know more midway through the afternoon. The temperature is up to 1 degree according to the Met Office and is only forecast to be zero at kick off time, so it's possible as the pitch will be flat. Chipstead do a good job with their pitch but it does get rather cold there!

In purely temperature terms it may even be colder at Chipstead than at Merland Rise, but you do have to factor in the force ten gale up there :)

Full list of players featuring in tonight's match

Neal Ardley has selected several first-teamers in his squad for tonight’s Surrey Senior Cup third round match against Horley Town.

Wimbledon’s top scorer Byron Harrison (pictured), Chris Hussey, Sammy Moore, Jason Prior, Pim Balkestein and Jim Fenlon are among the players who will feature as they strive for full fitness. Youngsters Chace Jacquart, Charlie Fayers and Dan Sweeney are among the youngsters given a chance to stake their claims.

Horley Town are currently seventh in the Combined Counties Premier League.

AFC Wimbledon squad: Seb Brown, Mikhael Jaimez Ruiz, Jim Fenlon, Pim Balkestein, Chris Hussey, Brendan Kiernan, Ryan Hervel, Sammy Moore, Kieran Djilali, Jason Prior, Byron Harrison, Chace Jacquart, Charlie Fayers, Khan Williams, Dan Sweeeny, Harry Wise, Emmanuel Akiotu.

Tonight’s match is a 7.45pm kick-off at the Cherry Red Records Stadium with admission prices for adults at just £5 and £2 for children.

That looks strong to me 9 players hwo have played first team this season!
