Mid-Season Meeting - Your thoughts

Recommended Posts

4.10. Mr Mitchell said correspondence had been received from two member clubs – Hoddesdon Town and The 61FC (Luton) calling on the League to hold a mid-season meeting to discuss a number of issues. The subjects listed included The Incorporation of the League; local derbies as fixtures over the Christmas period; the possible participation of club representatives on the Management Committee; the League’s Business Plan; the difference between ‘ground sharing’ and ‘hiring grounds for games’; ground grading issues; an Under-21 competition, the Respect Campaign and the issue of reserve teams from Contributory League clubs competing in the Spartan South Midlands League. Though the Management Committee initially expressed the view that these matters could be raised at the League’s AGM, they would now like to hear from ALL member clubs as to whether or not they would like a Mid-Season meeting to be called to discuss these issues and any others they wished to raise which must be advised by the same date. Replies MUST be submitted to the General Secretary by 31 JANUARY.

I suppose by clubs discussing these issues now they will be in place before the AGM. By leaving it until the summer it defers anthing being sorted out until 2014/5. The groundshare issue will always upset someone and in most cases the FA statutes will override anything the league would want to put in place.

The sharing of a cricket ground is strangely missing from the agenda.............

Mid-Season Meeting

14.1. At the request of Hoddesdon Town and The 61FC (Luton) all clubs had been asked to respond to the call for a Mid-Season meeting to discuss a number of issues. Only 14 of the 57 clubs had expressed the wish to call such a meeting and it was agreed that as a result there was insufficient interest to proceed.
